Is it a good idea to ask for feedback ?

Buy on ebay because you want the item, sell because you want the money. If lots of nice positive comments are what you want then you can post interesting stuff in the Arms' on here and get lots of thanks.[/QUOTE]
I dont think it is as simple as wanting to see good things written about you or your wares , most sellers possiby think theres a formula that for every one glowing feedback their next listing will fare 5% better in terms of cash
and of course this would work in reverse as well ( although maybe 10% lower for unfavourable feedback )
just an opinion though
As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !

... If you routinely leave silly feedback for sellers because they don't do what you want them to do then you will find that sellers may well start blocking you as being a bit of a flakey buyer....TurkishDelight wrote: »You can get suspended for that- negative comments on positive feedback for buyers.
Who said anything about silly or negative feedback? All I say is the truth: for example, "prompt payment, however no feedback left after 4 weeks".0 -
I can't stand being badgered for feedback, it puts my back up, I get around to it in my own time, usually a couple of weeks after receipt when I'm sure the item is working/good condition etc., so feedback is accurate, and any problems can be resolved before feedback ~ I always state any problems and how helpful sellers are in feedback ~ the vast majority are marvellous, and I say so.
Re. postage, I always ask for postage discount, and usually receive it. If you didn't ask, I can't see how you can mark them down for not giving it, unless it was stated in their listing.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

I think there is a lot of misunderstanding about feedback especially for buyers. Does it matter if they have 50 feedback or 500? It is all positive after all. Likewise once sellers get a fair bit behind them it starts to matter less and less.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. They could probably get that removed, it's a "negative statement" as ebay put it. And you would get a warning if it was.Who said anything about silly or negative feedback? There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

It is silly, the feedback is for your experience of the transaction letting people know you are eager for feedback looks a bit odd, they may wonder why you need feedback so desperately. The last thing anyone needs is for a seller to see comments and wonder what the problem is.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
