Cheap bottled water?

Iceland are doing 2litre bottles for 50p each, or 4 for £1. can't remember what they're called though0

One thing that my son pointed out to me not long ago - Evian spelt backwards is Naive!!
That said, it is a good idea to get the 13p ones from Tesco and put them in jugs, but I personally only ever buy bottled water overseas. Whilst our tap water tasted awful a while ago we put one of those electronic water conditioners on and it is perfectly palatable now, better than a lot of the bottled water, especially that horrible Perrier!!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
A chap from a water company said the most succesful thing they ever achieved was to convince the public to buy water in plastic bottles. You pay a lot for water rates, use the water.Freedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).

Not everyone buys water for the same reason.
I buy water for one of several reasons, the first being the exact same reason many people chose to buy diet coke or any other soft drink: they prefer the taste to tap water. Well I prefer the taste of chilled mineral water (namely Volvic which does actually taste of something IMO).
I buy it as its annoying to carry around 1L bottles of water in a bag which already is heavy enough.
I also like chilled water not lukewarm tap water as is given when requested if I ask at cafes. And I have actually been charged up to £1.50 before for the glass to drink tap water from (and no I didn't get to keep the glass!). Its just such a hassel that I'd rather buy my own ice cold chilled chorine-taste-free water and drink at my own pace as I walk along, not glugg down 500mls within 5 mins at a pit-stop before carrying on the rest of my journey.
Is there a problem with me (and others) making our own choices in regards to what we chose to drink? I don't understand why you have posted this, its not what the OP asked.0 -

Absolutely your choice, thought I thought this site was about saving, not wasting, money?Freedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).

What you are talking about are different products.
Mineral water, spring water, table water, tap water.
They do have different tastes, sources, processing, etc.
I can see your point, but it isn't really fair to say use tap water it's cheapest, that is like saying to somebody drink tea because it's cheaper, even though they want coffee. :beer:0 -

Tap water comes out top in blind taste tests. Part of the reason some people buy bottled water is that they expect it to taste better, so it does for them. Who am I to shatter their illusions, or deny profits to Nestle and others?Freedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).
