Cheap bottled water?

I'm throwing a golden anniversary party for my grandparents and need to buy drinks for it. I need to get bottled water, because of the venue tap water is not practical, but I don't want to pay through the nose for it. I don't mind if it's branded or from somewhere like Lidl or Aldi, as long as it doesn't say 'value' or something similar on the label. I want it to be cheap, but I don't want to look like i'm being cheap. I'm looking for large bottles to put on the tables, 1.5L or 2L. I can't really go anywhere like Makro or Costco as there arent any nearby. Anyone know of any good offers or the prices in shops from Lidl or similar places? Thanks :)

If your looking for good tasting water, Sainsburys own brand (called Caledonian or something) tastes good, its got that sort of Volvic type taste to it rather then tasting of nothing, probably something to do with a few minerals but depends what you like.

Have you thought of chilling a few bottles and refilling a pourable glass jar? that way you could even get the value range and no one would ever know.

If you have a Home Bargains nearby they always have bottled water. Also Aldi water is reasonably priced (if you can say that about any bottled water).

The 99p shop sells bottles of water and they taste fine.
  • Asda have had some good deals or Harrogate Spring (1.5L bottles). It might be worth buying the really large bottles / carrier style one and decantering it into jugs. Alternatively get a good water filter and fill jugs using filtered tap water ;-)
