Personally, I find painted pebbledash even less attractive than au naturel, and you'd then be creating an ongoing maintenance issue.

But Ireland seems to have been carpeted in new pebbledash bungalows, so I could well be in a minority.

Thanks Laurel. Realise we're creating on-going maintenance, but hoping it might look better.

I'm not really a fan of pebble dash at all to be honest. Next door have painted theirs white and I think it looks quite good. I'm thinking either white or cream.

    Any other opinions?

Our house is white, but I think in coastal areas you can get away with really bright colours; our village boasts pinks, blues, yellows and greens (and one house in deep purple!) :D

Thanks both. We are in a coastal area, but not right by the water, doesn't really suit the area at all as they're all cream, white, plain pebbledash or sandstone. Right down by the water there are some lovely blues etc, which certainly look nice down there. There's a rather pinkish orangey one just along the street that can be seen on the link and I'm not too keen on that.

try youtube and search for pimp your pebbledash. You could have it bricks, stones etc by Decopierre. Very interesting Lime based finish.

Thats the same colour pepple dash as my house . I painted it white took about 3 coats , make sure when you paint the house is in shade or the glare will hurt your eyes after a while .

you could always get a cheap pair of sunglasses , but it is better to paint walls when the sun isn't on them , also remember to add a bit of water to the paint - if it is too thick you will get "mud cracking "-http://www.dulux.co.uk/advice/questions/faq/faq_029.jsp
