Can you insure a mobile bought from ebay?

I bought a brand new phone of ebay, it was an unwanted upgrade, its on my network (Orange) can I get it insured?

Iam insured with barclays,they ask for receipt as proof of purchase which should includes IMEI number and your name..
Probably every insurance comanpy have its own terms..
By the way is it possible if i am insured with Barclays and and other insurance company,and i lost my mobile can i claim phones from both party ?0 -

I should think that insuring with one of the companies mentioned on the mobile insurance article will insure it without any question. They don't seem to ask where you bought it from or anything like that, they just want the IMEI, etc.0

Strange how people sell these unwanted upgrades, Seen people selling more than half a dozen in the same month.
When i upgrade vodafone state that i must register the phone with my number 1st. Think there is a time limit

Errmmmmm..... Check you home contents insurance. If you have "away from home" or "personal possessions" cover (same thing - different names), then the phone is already insured. Check your excess for the policy, as you may find that it's less than you'd pay for a couple of years phone specific insurance.In the beginning, the universe was created.
