    (sigh) It isn't free in that it didn't just appear, as if by magic. It came from government revenue, ie taxes.

    Yes but its free for the claimer as they dont have to repay that money. :)

    No you can use the money for whatever you want...

    Like buying a coffee or some food as the jobcentre staff suggested. lol


    Thats what i did when i claimed the £4 bus fare when i had to go jobcentre on a date that wasn't my normal sign-on.

    Nope, when/if the person eventually pays tax they will pay the exact same amount of tax that they would have if they hadn't recieved that money.

    There is no provision in the tax system where you have to repay the extra bus fare money that you got from the jobcentre. ;)


    So this is actually the 1 and only time in life that you will ever truely get a ''free lunch''! :beer::p

    We ALL pay tax. Even the unemployed. The true irony is that the poorer you are, the more tax you pay as a propertion of income.
