but that doesn't work out...Grenada is 5 hours behind the UK, so would be leaving at 9:40am UK time...which would imply that the flight will take 21 hours...which unless it's stopping somewhere for a long time, it won't.
The dates & times quoted are local time, so you return from Grenada at 2:40pm Grenada time on the 1st September not 2:40pm UK time, arriving UK 6:50am UK time the next day (unless you have a Tardis). Normally there should be a + sign against the arrival time to indicate that it's arriving the next day.

Yes, I know...I'd gone the wrong way - I mentioned that Grenada was 5 hours behind the UK and rather than add 5 hours to Grenada time to get the corresponding UK time, I subtracted, because I am clearly stupid.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
