Got some old working hi-fis that I'd like to replace. Has anyone sold to Cash Converters before? Is it a case of taking the stuff to their store and getting cash for it?
thanks.
thanks.

you will need to take the goods to them and they usually offer the least money possible. if you want a quick sale then that is what they will give you at a vastly lower price. You cant take the trousers off an elephant!0

My sons did try to sell some console games a couple of years back, they were selling them in the shop for about £8-£10 at the time but they offered him less than a pound a go..so we declined and flogged them on ebay instead.

We have a place called cash in a dash where we live (lancaster) , which is basically the same. A few months back.... we had a lot of money problems (hence the bankruptcy) and when things got to rock bottom..... I decided to take my TECHNICS cd multi stack to cash in a dash. It was only a few month old, in perfect condition.... remotes and instructions. Worth £200 and they gave me £40 !! they told me that there was a higher edition now, the one that plays dvds and that they would only get around £100 for mine. We left the shop, a few days later, we went past the shop........ they had priced it at £210 !!!!!
I felt so stupid for selling it to them! But we do things like this when we are broke.
Just be warned, they will offer the very very least! Only do it if you are desperate0 -
Put it in the paper if you don't need the money straight away ...0

I wouldn't sell to Cash Converters unless I was very desperate and couldn't wait a few days for the considerably better pirice you'd get selling it yourself. They usually only offer a small fraction of the price they intend to sell it for, whereas if you sell via a newspaper or supermarket ad, you'd probably be looking for about half the price CC would sell it for, so probably about twice what they'd offer you.
If you do decide to resort to Cash Converters, you'll need ID.0 -
Years ago I went to the one in Cambridge with 2 x CDJ players and a mixer, all worth about £250 and a few months old, with boxes etc. They offered me £30 for the lot.Happy chappy0

I took a playstation with over 50 games, a Sony 28 inch tv, a casio keyboard full size, a cb radio and a video recorder. Was offered a whopping 80 quid and that was 3 years ago when these goods were at real premium prices.
I would take a wee trip to my local car boot. You cant take the trousers off an elephant!0 -
Thanks all for your comments. Much appreciated. I think I will avoid the hassle of driving all the way to my not-so-near CC and get pennies for the hi fi.0

Have never dealt with CC so cannot help there, but would like to wish you luck Helen.0

CC is a business. They have to pay rent, rates, staff etc etc so will always low ball you. If you want more then you have to spend effort and possibly £ and advertise the stuff yourself...0
