Strange all the new finds after the OP have posted 8" saws...The OP has posted a 10" saw. So how can you compare them? It's like suggesting that a Ford KA and a Focus are the same thing because they're both Fords.

So it is a good find...check your facts before posting.

I have to agree with rizla01, if they have an identicle product cheaper then fine update the thread.

But if they have another similar product thats a good deal make a new post.

Having a larf ain't ya Golddust!

    it's nothing like it!

I was just pointing out that if your criteria is a basic powered mitre saw then there are cheaper alternatives available. After all if someone can see on here what alternatives there are (better OR worse) then they can make an informed decision on whether the original posted deal is good for them or not.
After all, what about all the computer deals people post, then other users say what similar or other deals they've found, this is just the same situation.

    Won't bother next time. Cheers.
  • Also for info (rizla01 please ignore), Toolstation also do a 10" mitre saw for £49.60. http://www.toolstation.com/index.html?r=a&feature=50193

I realise this is more than the Screwfix one, although this one includes free delivery.

They're being compared because the OP criteria, as per title, were CHEAP and MITRE SAW. Every product people have mentioned since are cheap mitre saws.

To use your example, comparing a Ford Ka with a Ford Focus, you can compare them as they're both cars and cheap.

I'm sure if I found a good deal on a Ford Ka and stated on here I'm looking for a cheap car and have found "X" then I'd be happy if people told me of deals on other types of car that met my criteria.

They may both be mitre saws but they are not the same. If someone posted a thread about a DVD being on £9.99 in some online shop and then someone came back with "you can get (name of completely different DVD here) for only £7.49 at blah blah blah" you would think he was nuts...well that's what you sound like.
To use your example, comparing a Ford Ka with a Ford Focus, you can compare them as they're both cars and cheap.
Thats ridiculous.. you cannot compare them fairly. The size and cost dictates that.

Well I don't think the OP stated he was looking for a cheap saw. In fact he already had one. He mentions that he bought this one as a spare. So this analogy falls flat on it's face. It really all boils down to checking your facts once again.

Well I've gone for one - thanks OP !

Always borrowing my mate's sliding compound one, makes tedious jobs so much easier. Skirting, coving, laminate flooring cut easily, quickly and accurately.

I know this isn't a sliding one, but for this price you can't go wrong.
