Groupola

Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place
Groupola is basically a discount site. Businesses offer a range of activities (including go karting and paintballing) and days out for a discounted price on the basis that Groupola can get a certain amount of people to buy.
There are opportunities to grab a bargain all over the country. They also have a referral system where you can get £5 everytime someone you refer buys one of the deals.

I am not posting this to get anything out of it (which is why I haven't included my referral URL). I genuinely think this is a great site.

Thanks for that, I wasn't aware of any problems. I know loads of people that have used the site with no problems whatsoever though0

I hope this doesn't sound disrespectful or anything but are you sure you're not confusing Groupola with Groupon?
I know this info may not be correct but I found this http://eu.techcrunch.com/2010/02/24/groupola-com-yet-another-groupon-clone-launches-in-the-uk/
The founder of Groupola is the same person who founded MyVoucherCodes
I'm not trying to force this site on people. If I'm wrong and they are the same company then of course I wouldn't advise people to use a site they don't trust. But at the same time I wouldn't like to see a new business ruined because of the reputation of another0 -
ooh , yes ...early morning

Don't apologise, there's so many companies out there with similar names
It's almost impossible not to get confused sometimes

I've posted about Groupola recently because of their £2 paintballing day bargain. Seems like a good site, and the more people on there the merrier because the more chance of the deals 'tipping' and getting us better deals in future
) They've been featured in The Metro, The Independent and Financial Times too, so all seems a-ok to me, but I'm going to buy something next week because I feel the need for a spa day coming on, so I'll let you know how I go
(Can you tell I'm a lowly student out on the hunt for a bargain?)

The problem is with these sort of deals is that that the consumer is not guaranteed anything. They depend on a minimum amount of people prepared to give their email and credit card details before any deal goes through ie the 'tipping point' Today's deal for a cheap meal has been 'bought' by 5 people which doesn't appear to be enough. Maybe why you're spamming this forum.
I'm also very concerned about a few of the terms and conditions especially this one:
We do not represent or guarantee the truthfulness, accuracy or reliability of any material contained on the Site. All such material is intended as information only and does not constitute advice. You acknowledge and agree that any reliance on material contained on the Site is at your own risk.

Until sites of this nature have been around for a while and have been proven to be trustyworthy and worthwhile I shan't be using them.0 -
I was also sceptical; I used another site before (kgb I think it was, for that Cineworld voucher) but it was never received and I never heard from them again!). Anyway, just thought I'd mention that I gave it a go and bought a years unlimited voucher downloads from daysoutuk as it was only £2.50 so I couldn't really go wrong. I didn't think the deal was going to tip but it did and I received the email, with the voucher (to claim from daysoutuk) straight away. I had a technical prob with the voucher and had to email groupola's customer service and they replied quickly & were helpful so that's good enough for me! I'll be using them in future anyway as I've already got my eye on a few birthday present ideas, and I feel like I've tried and tested the site now so I'm confident enough in them
