Made an error on my e-ticket

Options
I've booked a flight with TAP from Heathrow to Faro for my family. When the e-tickets arrived, I noticed I had made an error and my youngest daughter is marked as "Mr" rather than "Miss". There is a £50 charge to make an amendment and so I thought I would ask if I need to do this. I would obviously wish to avoid the situation where she is prevented from flying if we turn up at the airport without making the amendment.

Can anyone please let me know whether the amendment is required?

What did the airline say when you asked them?
    Gone ... or have I?

I've not asked them yet. I wanted to be forewarned in case they said I had to pay £50 even if it didn't really matter.

I would phone up the airport/s that you are flying from, and explain the problem, asking for (written, or email) clarification that your daughter will be allowed through?

I would obviously check with your airline, but I thought I'd tell you how I got on when I did something similar a few years ago.

I booked an e-ticket for my mother to fly from Heathrow to Malaga on Iberia, and somehow put her down as "Mr" instead of "Mrs". I contacted Iberia to see if this would be an issue, and their response was that the "Mr/Mrs/Miss" bit was irrelevant, so long as the actual name matched the one on her passport, which it did. She flew out there and back with no problems whatsoever (apart from the £100+ excess baggage; she's obviously never been on these boards!).

Things may well vary between airlines, and may have changed since then.

Thinking about it, what would happen if you put yourself down as "Miss" when you're actually a "Mrs"? How would the airline ever know? :D

Thinking about it does your passport even have Mr/Mrs/Miss on it (not got mine with me)? What has the match is the name on the passport and that on the ticket.

I was on a ticket as Mrs rather than Miss but was told it doesn't really matter, though they changed it anyway just because I'd given them a ring. it's such a small amendment that there was no charge. It's not as though you are changing it to another person, just giving them the correct title or gender!!!
