At the moment using the Benefit one, it was about 25.00 i think. It comes in a stick form and its really good, covers well and looks radiant or so ive been told lol.0

i must admit, as a very pale woman with dry skn, i found mineral make-up a must. I have tried a few, e.l.f is good if you are not too pale. too dark for me though. i went for everyday minerals, which is about £20, but it lasts aggges and if you can find a store, they will try it for you and make sure it suits!Ok, ok, i need to go back onto Weightwatchers, lost 7 stone..... 2 back on, this has to change.....Help!!!:eek:0

I see a good foundation as the basis of good make-up so I am happy to spend more on it if neccessary up to £30, I would be happy to spend. Currently , I use a MAC foundation, which I'm happy with. However, I have tried cheaper foundations such as L'oreal and Bourjois and found them to be quite good.
I am terrible for getting bored with my foundations though and tend to switch a lot between foundations. I've tried mineral make up before (from Loreal) but found to powdery. I thought my face didn''t look very natural with it on, but perhaps I should try a different make.0 -
Which brand do you use? I'm very interested in mineral foundation, I've tried a couple of high street ones, which are better for my skin than normal foundation but I'm not sure about spending money on brands I don't know that are advertised via "infomercials". A recommendation would be very much appreciated

This thread on freebies low spend board raves about elemental beauty mineral makeup and say the samples are cheap...so might be better for trying skin matches cheaply.

I wish there was somewhere that you could go, which was independant and a advisor would listen to your woes about your skin and whether you prefer liquid or mineral or stick foundation and get a unbiased opinion. And which suited your budget!!!!0

I do the boring stuff. At least one litre of water daily. Aloe Vera gel at night to improve skin condtion. Fine sea salt to get rid of dead skin. Homemade face mask weekly. My skin is in good nick & people comment well on it. I don't use foundation.“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

Yes. I am a fiend for spending on make up, and I've recently decided to actually start using up what I have before I buy anymore.
I use Clinque for most of my products, I did "downgrade" to L'Oreal last year to save money, but then due to a cream my doctor put me on my face because oily enough to fry an egg on (it was gross- I used to look in the mirror and get that Take That song "shine" stuck in my head it was that bad)
So I went back to Clingue after trying everything on the market, told them my problem & they suggested the Anti Blemish foundation.
LIFESAVER! Its £20 a bottle but £20 well spent. I'm drending it finishing because I'll have to go back to my old ones until they are done. Eeep.0 -

It it good for oily skin? My DD is a big fan of some Clinique - sje loves the DDM gel - have you tried that?0 -
Cheap but good Revlon colorstay £10ish
Splurge and my personal Holy Grail NARS sheer glow £29 (gulp, and NO its not shiny or dewy its an invisible satin finish). I tell all you mineral converts try this, it feels effortless, weightless and good coverage without the heaviness of DW and Revlon.0 -
I don't splurge, but I probably would if I found an absolutely fantastic foundation.
I use Max Factor Age Renew which is about £10 and lasts me around 3-4 months. I'm happy with it - it gives me the right amount of coverage and doesn't cause my skin to break out.CC debt: £0/£9 0000
