I just asked my OH (infantryman) and, apparently, they can still recruit but there won't be any intake until September, if that makes sense. Not sure if this applies outside the infantry, though. From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0

The Army are always recruiting! If you manage to pass the application tests it can take up to 18-24 months until you start basic training!
Army Careers Office have all the answers.0 -

Thank you, this is what we heard also (no intake until September).
Would it be worth OH applying now? Or wait until September?
His fitness isnt up to scratch yet you see, but was planning on applying in September.
Would it speed things up applying now?? Hes applying for Infantry.♥ Blogger at Victoria's Vintage Blog ♥0 -
My OH thinks apply now. September isn't far away and still gives him time to work on fitness. From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0

Army Careers Office have all the answers.
All the answers they want you to hear yeah.
Including that they turn people away regularly on excuses in order to see if they had the metle to come back or not, they'll never say up front that's why though.
Some trades are almost on an automatic no for the first application with the real recruiting done on application 2 or 3 (just to see what you got up to in the mean time).
So the careers office might have answers, but if they are the actual answers or not generally takes a bit more research.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

Well they are still running recruitment ads.0

Get your OH in to the careers office and get the ball rolling. Simples.0

They have scaled down recruiting and some trades are full but we always need more. The Army is however more selective as there are far more applicants than places at the moment.0

Tis somewhat true I am afraid. Some training centres have gone from almost 150 recruits in per week to just over 50. If it's what he really wants to do then the wait won't put him off so it's worth persevering.0
