Gosh DNMs, don't envy you with the bed creaking
My mum once rang me at university huddled in the kitchen whispering that she could hear my sister and her boyfriend (aged 16 at the time) upstairs, and it wasn't just the furniture... :rotfl: I'm afraid I did laugh at the poor woman! :rotfl:
Well, yesterday I did hardly any of list, but had a lovely day hanging around at a local festival, and worked on the LETS stall for a couple of hours, so earned some fake currency at least, even if it wasn't real... :T Really must get into the habit of spending LETS currency more often - nobody offers anything I would actually pay for (being a complete tighwad and rarely paying for anything if I can get away with it), but I could use for frivolous treats like massage occasionally... Will consider...
Anyway, today's list - looks remarkably like yesterdays... :rotfl:
* read gas meter
* tidy up
* clean and paint attic stairs
* plant out tomatoes
* plant rocket
* [STRIKE]run out into front garden in nightie to rescue prize lettuce from two ENORMOUS slugs[/STRIKE] :eek:
* 2 hours transcribing work
* ring re voluntary stuff
* email re other voluntary stuff
* write on cheery blog
* knitting!
* surveys
* find 5 things to ebay
* find CDs for magpie thing
* make something for friend's afternoon tea birthday party this afternoon :j
I've got £1.10 of this week's budget left, so it'll be a bag of 43p value flour and making bread I think! :T
Have a good Sunday all... xx0 -
Hi everybody! :hello:
I think my weekend do far has been pretty DFW. I have spent very little money (99p!) which I'm really pleased about, but have had such a nice time. Hubby is away (which is a bit pants) but I had such a lovely time with BF last night and have a nice day of arts, crafts, cooking and baking today, which I always find very therapeutic! So my wee DFW things have been / are going to be:- Used vouchers in M&S for some shopping, so saved over £14 in what I would have spent in "real" money :T
- Got a real bargain of 99p for a dozen eggs!
- Been v good with switching off things at the wall
- Doing loads of batch cooking today for the week ahead
- Making another 2 cards
- Doing drawing for birthday present
- Using Virgin free weekend calls to chat to Mum (yesterday and today)
- Sold another item on Ebay (£12
) - Go out for a walk for some free exercise and to take more photos
Cheery Daff - your post about your Mum "It's not just the furniture" made me laugh so much, combined with the image of you sprinting across your garden in your lingerie - fab! :rotfl:
Determined - I haven't thought about freezing peppers before - does it work well? I have loads in the fridge as I buy the Sainsb*rys Basics bumper bags. Also - I sent you the meatballs recipe.
rachelmk - good work on the shopping - always nice to come in under budget!
Have a good morning DFWs!
Jo

Today I have:
Sold 2 things on ebay (had 3 others on that didn't sell though, and nice things, not junk, which had watchers but they just disappeared at the last minute
)
Updated books on Amazon and Green Metropolis
Weeded veggie garden
HM meals from stores - not sure what to do for supper though - spoilt for choice and feeling shattered/ lazy due to excess weeding :rotfl:
Must get on and pack ebay items
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Small dog#2 has just jumped into the (clean) washing basket which is placed precariously on the sofa (to keep animals out of clean washing - it is fatal to leave it on the floor, as it gets treated as a luxury dog or cat - or dog and cat- basket and I have to wash the whole lot over again :eek:). The whole lot overturned and fell on the floor. I shall have to pick it all up now, but it did look funny. You should have seen her expression :rotfl:
She is a bit accident prone this weekend - she managed to fall in the canal last night when we took them along the towpath for a walk. OH got very wet dragging her out :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
I do have a question does anyone have any ideas for cheap places to eat in london as we are going there soon and a friend has just come back and said how expensive it is, i'm not sure if this is the right placwe to ask this question if its not i'm sorry thanks for any help
Hi Anna!
London can be quite expensive to eat, but there are plenty of more reasonable restaurants too. I live here and try to treat us to a meal out once a month or so and when I do, we use vouchers from www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - you can sign up to their email too, which sends you the valid ones. Lots of nice restaurants there - mostly chains like Pr3zzo and P1zza Express, but if you don't mind those then I would recommend them.
As for other things to do in London I always recommend 3 things - museums (free), sightseeing (free) and walking tours (£8 but it lasts for about 2 hours and it is really really good fun and interesting) - with this company: http://www.walks.com/
Have fun!
Jo
