Afternoon all,
Warm and breezy here to-day, have put a wash on line, hopefully it will dry before promised rain arrives.
BM is on with some brown bread from a mix....put machine on French bread setting by mistake so will be interesting to see what it turns out like....takes almost 4 hours so had better be good...will be eaten anyway as I have at last managed to stop OH from buying a loaf every morning, hope that lasts.
Bought some lovely oilcloth in Sardinia for both kitchen table and outside one....only problem is that kitchen table is wider than I thought so cloth barely covering it, knew that one for outside was too narrow but plan on putting wide tape at each side and it stays on all summer anyway....wider ones were lovely but patterns not quite what I wanted. I was delighted with the price too....€3.50 per metre in market in comparison to €28.99 for Cath Kitson stuff in our local Avoca...not sure that quality is quite the same, but will do until I get fed up with it!
Sick of soccer already and world cup has only started! OH will watch it all and I will catch up on visiting people, knitting, maybe even manage to sort out garden weeds, don't find it in any way appealing, love rugby and Gaelic but soccer leaves me cold! Sorry fans.
Need to do a freezer dive to find my dinner, took steak out earlier for OH, just enough for one so I will have one of the single dinners I have in there, freezer needs to be defrosted so will keep going with that for a while to help out, not buying any frozen things or cooking to freeze, we have lots of veg and salad in garden, so peas and beans will be done without for now.
Lots of people seem to be missing at the moment, hope that things are ok for everybody....any sign of Halight lately?
JC....hugs to you and your family.
Think that I will make some scones later....milk went sour so might be a good way to use it up, depends on my humour, hungry now as it seems a long time since breakfast so think I will make a sandwich.
Hugs to all in need or want

Hiya everyone,
been town today with the boys to get OH his fathers day present and card. First time I havent had to buy anything for my dad and it was very strange, made me remember he was gone. Came home and made fairy cakes the boys decorated them with icing, haribo and smarties! I did some with buttercream which for my first time of making tastes just like butter! Boys are fighting off something - hopefully just a cold so they have had a nap and I asked next door to turn the music down and she actually did.ght
Tea is chicken cooked in a casserole dish with passata and carrots - have no idea what it tastes like but im determined to use up the passata.
OH going to friends to watch match tonight so hoping I get to watch greys on catch up tv providing OH friends wife doesnt pop round.
Take care everyone, its sunny here, bit windy but the boys want to sit in and watch ghostbusters dvd.Mum, wife and dinnerlady!0 -
good afternoon, I too find the wall-to-wall foot ball a bit boring meanmarie. We should have a post just for those who aren't that bothered to post on I think.
I have had a very good day so far I went to Uni this morning and we were learning all about the history of Hampstead and Highgate which was quite good. Then I went to DD's school fete, and after spending a fiver actually came home better off. I bought some raffle tickets and won a bottle of single malt whiskey (which I would never drink) which I sold to the man on the plant stall for a tenner.I also bought a small box of fruit which had five nectarines in and half a dozen apricots ( will think of something to do with the apricots ,any ideas folks apart from just peeling and eating them). So after buying my weekend paper for the crossword I am actually five pounds better off than I was this morning plus I was given 10 mini cornish pasties for nothing as they were left over and I hate to see anything wasted :)So all round its been quite a productive day.
Tonight I may take myself off to sainsbobs for a wander as I can guarantee it will be deserted around 6.00.p.m. and hopefully may get a few bargains in the veggie line with my surplus fiver I earnt this morning. Now thats what I call a good day. The sun is shining and I'm just about to put my washing out that was doing whilst I was out this morning so it will get a good blow on the line.have a good day everyone
Cheers JackieO xx
steak and mushrooms for tonight dinner .Am going to sort out the freezer this afternoon0 -
Afternoon all.....................((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one, not sure where today has gone!! OH in the veg garden, we had coffee outside and somehow I ended up with a trowel in my hand weeding. Lunch.....pate, toast, apple me yogurt OH and a french larger each then more gardening. I came in the prepare tonights supper, toad in the hole, sausages in the remoska, carrots and more frozen green beans.....red wine gravy. The batter is made and resting in the fridge. Just had a cuppa and a piece of lemon drizzle cake again in the garden. Very pleasant out there, just a slight breeze, the solar fountain dipping up and down and the sun goes behind the clouds.
Tired so I decided to come in and do some surfing......football? whats that????? We recorded quite a few programmes so we have something to watch if that 'f' word is on the TV.............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Hello All, long time no post:o
I have just had a catch up. Haven't posted for ages for lots of reasons but mainly trying to get sorted financially. I have had to return to work full time which was a blow as I was so enjoying having more time at home for cooking and general OSiness but needs must. I am still trying to be as economical as possible. It's essential really now we are on a DMP so lots of cooking from scratch and loads of fruit and veg growing in the garden.
Happy Anniversary to those celebrating at the moment. Our 25th is next Saturday and I have a sneaky suspicion that our four have organised a weekend away for us which will be lovely.
An horrendously expensive month for us June. 18 birthdays virtually one after the other plus fathers day. Looks like our boiler has finally died as well.
Never mind on the positive side we are off to friends tonight for a barbi and to watch the match. Have a good day everyone xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Ooooh Julie...there should be a law against so many birthdays for anyone to deal with! We just have 2 here and father's day and I consider it quite enough!

Afternoon all, hope you are havinga good day

Tru - that's a great deal well done!
The outlaws are still here
I worked until 10.30 pm last night to get back and find them still in the house
I don't do late nights, I work too hard and I can't cope with it. They are going to some dull as hell wildlife park today - and I have already been chided for not going. I am simply too busy. Not looking forward to tomorrow - as I won't get away with working both weekend days. I also need my table back as I have clay work to finish and it's covered in rubbish.
They've also been shopping and filled my fridge with c*** which drives me nuts. We have very little meat at home usually as I don't like it and now my fridge is full of evil smelling dead things. Salami makes me feel physically ill. I'm going to be in trouble - our PA told me to take the milk home from work (we usually have a milk lake by the end of the week) so I had to remove all the alcohol to get it in the fridge. I am refusing to cook. OH has the week off work - therefore his problem.
Sorry, I sound like a right miserable cow
athough tbh, that would be a fair estimation at the moment.
*sigh* have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
oh dear celyn (((hugs))). I felt it when my in-laws came. They invited themselves to stay for 2 weeks!!! It was l o n g. I thought it would never end. They made such critical judgements all the time - everyone they saw in the city was fat (what???), the round-about was ugly (it was road works!) - these are just 2 of many, many comments.
Really thinking of you.
