Well, as some of you know, I don't get here much in the summer, I'm too busy cramming in all the things can't/don't do in winter because of the SAD.
Been a funny time, dh working away most of each week since last summer and now totally out of touch as he's gone on a three week trek in Bolivia. Heard from him last night, but no more now till a week on Thursday. Quiet here, kids away for the weekend, so a chance to sew. Got a client coming for a pedicure in a bit but that is the only distraction.
OS goes on, grocery bills been very low, fewer of us here for less of the time I suppose, also been trying to use up out of the freezer (aren't I always). Been desperate to defrost for months, but still waiting. One day. Housework and Flylady pfft! DD home from Uni so can't move for laundry still and the front room downstairs is totally inaccessible. Uni visits for ds, so time taken there.
Managed to bake this week, but trying to avoid the stuff I've made!
It is nice to catch up with what some of you have been doing. Laughed about your review Hester. Nothing changes does it?

Oh I've just eaten 2 HM choc chip muffins for breakfast - does that count as OS? :rotfl: Did them for the kids and they don't appear to like them
Have a good day OS or not.
I made double choc muffins yesterday for the first time. Dd said that while they were nice, they would be nicer with more sugar in, as they weren't really sweet enough to bring out the chocolate flavour. I used the Susan Reimer recipe. ANyone else used this?"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Morning all
Well off work for a week now thank goodness. :j Hope the weather stays nice. Went across to our friends in Manchester last evening and went out for a lovely Italian meal, first time we have been out for a meal that didn't involve club card vouchers for ages lol:rotfl:
Today we are helping DD1 prepare for a World Cup party at her house this evening, BBQ and beer etc, so shouldn't take alot of organising We are going round to move her large TV put up the gazebos and generally help with food prep, should be good fun. Tomorrow we are going off to the caravan for a week, looking forward to chilling out.
((((Hugs)))) to anyone who needs one, hope you all enjoy your weekends whatever you are doing

wm on beds stripped
have a good day all x0 -
Morning all
oooh I love vanilla coffee Sistercas. I'm making do with Co-op coffee just now. I don't drink much (coffee, anyway
) and DH likes the ordinary browner kind of instant, if that makes sense, not the freeze dried. Anyway.
Beemuzed- glad that your DS was so much better. You will have more peace of mind now.
Taplady - hope your dS gets on well with his college work this weekend and that it falls into place without him worrying too much about it all.
Tru - sounds like there's lots of OS going on with you just now - well done!
Sunny morning here. Dogs been walked and their bedding washed so they're fine and dandy.
DH comes home this afternoon
.He's only been away for 2 nights but I miss him.
Saturday tea here is usually a bowl of arabiatta in front of the telly, so that will be made later.
Will remember to defrost some chicken for tomorrow. I've been saying this for the last 2 weekends and keep forgetting.
Watched Julie and Julia last night with DD. It was a brilliant film. Meryl Streep is soooo good as julia and the cooking looked fab. We both agreed that we wanted to cook immediately and DD looked up the Julia recipe for Bouf Bourginon. Now I know that's not the correct spellings. Ah well. I'm going to buy the DVD as I enjoyed it so much and know I'll watch it repeatedly. A film must be great for me to buy it:j!!
have a lovely weekend folks.

Afternoon all
Still in limbo here just trying to function and get through each day. I contacted the local community worker who is trying to set up a meeting through the political group that represents them but no news on that. local advice is to get the boys out of the country but to me that just looks like they are guilty when they are not.
We've decided that regardless of the outcome we are going to move out of the city and its 'estate mentality' and find somewhere to rent where we can just 'live'. I would like to take our time and choose somewhere that suits us but I don't know whether we weill have that luxury just yet.
Thanks for your thoughts and good wishes xClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness
