PayG SIM that can recieve calls without having to pay
I'm currently in the middle of messing with a Nigerian scammer, you know the sort, he is arranging for his client to send me a cheque for my 17yr old Volvo and I'm to cash the cheque and pass on the commission part of the money via western union.
Obviously I'm not falling for it and just want to wind the guy up, but now he's after a phone number.
Are there any PayG SIM cards you can get that don't need topping up before you can recieve calls as I don't want to spend any money on this and certainly don't want to give him my real number.
Edit: Alternatively, anyone know a provider of 0871 numbers that will set them up quickly, allow me to point them at a mobile and still pay me money. This is about the best use for those things I can think of.

Why not give him the number of one of those chat lines? For some reason the gay one springs to mind! Don't ask me why! 0891 5050500

Well I'd like to actually speak to the guy and convince him I'm still falling for the scam.
Though now I want to look into getting an 0891 pointed at my mobile for this. Should pay out better than 0871.0 -
Asda used to do their mobile sims for 50p with 25p credit. Put in an turn on.0

phonenumbers4u.co.uk seems to offer 09xxx numbers (£1.50 per minute!) diverted to mobile for no setup fee.....0

I will look into it tomorrow, but a brief skim of their site looks promising. Thanks.0

09 numbers are true premium rate numbers, and need registering with the regulator PayphonePlus, for which there will be a fee, not what you are after.
0871 numbers tend to be for businesses but 0844 can be set up for free and working within minutes, I have one from just0844numbersDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
If your scammer is calling from Nigeria then access to 09x and 0871x numbers will be blocked to callers outside of UK.
So the mobile sim idea is your best idea - though personally I would suggest stop wasting time with him.0 -
String him on a bit more.
Have you got a microphone and speakers with your PC? Or (even better) does your mobile support SIP? You can sign up at sipgate.co.uk for a free VoIP phone number which will accept incoming calls without having to pay and you get a geographical UK number.0 -
http://www.voipuser.org/ does 0844 and 087something numbers for free to try and encourage people to use VoIP. By using one of these numbers the scammer will contribute to the community outbound minutes and you can use a VoIP client that supports recording the call!0
