Can anyone help?
We have a sky HD box and today trying to watch the world cup on ITVHD our picture was awful, breaking up and almost unwatchable. I spent hours on the phone to sky rebooting system and trying all the connections and got no-where. Eventually we decided it it had to be our communal dish which was at fault and have reported it and await an engineer. However........... we met friends later at a sports club to watch the footy and the picture there was breaking up too (satellite, but not HD), so now we're wondering if this is a general problem - anyone know anything?

No idea on satt, I watched both games [ cable ] on ITV in High Definition and it was it's usual spot~on~self.
I mention this, to re-assure you it was not a general transmission fault. So your problem lies with your Sly system.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Was it raining heavily in your area? That can cause reception problems.
I'm in NW Surrey and had no problems watching the match. It wasn't raining much here at the time.
I am Sky SD not Sky HD.0 -

No, no rain at all - nice sunny day. It's still breaking up now on BBC/ITV channels, but seems OK on Sky channels.0 -
Are these BBC//ITV terrestial channels you are talking about, how are they on SKY HD 143/178 ?researcher wrote: »No, no rain at all - nice sunny day. Maybe the satellite has gone slightly out of alignment and is not picking up all the transponders properly.researcher wrote: »No, no rain at all - nice sunny day. It's still breaking up now on BBC/ITV channels, but seems OK on Sky channels.
Have other users sharing the dish also had problems?0 -

Yes, channels 143/1780 -

This is what we thought because others have had some break-up - but it's really strange how we had the problem last week, then nothing for a week and then started again today. If it were slightly out of alignment I'd expect it to be breaking up on all channels, not just specific ones. And then to see the same at the club made us wonder if there were a more general problem. I guess we'd of had lots of replies by now if that were the case though.0 -
Researcher:
Was it a new install or an upgrade to HD?
Does your satalite cable run over the roof?
Was the cable replaced when it was upgraded to HD?
Has the cable ever been damaged in aly way?0 -
I live in a new build apartment so the dish and cabling was pre-installed before we moved in. So no new cable. However, been here for 17 months with no probs.0
