I just had to join in. I have had a problem with my ears for a while now and often have tinnitus, and the drone of those blasted horns is making the football almost unwatchable for me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Better than listening to the wife...
... but the noise is that annoying that I'm seriously considering not watching the match tonight.0 -
I just think its part and parcel of playing out there and watching the matches, its better than some fans shouting abuse not that you would hear it above the horns. We knew about the horns ages ago, some knew about them last year from when the confederations cup was on so we were kind of warned about them.0

Just like me. My husband doesn't like the noise, but is prepared to put up with it (with the sound turned down slightly). However, all of that constant droning sets my teeth on edge, gives me a headache, and I can't bear to listen to it for long. If they only did it once every so often, it wouldn't be so bad, but it's just endless.
I doubt I'll be watching any of the matches this year - unless it's with no sound.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates the constant angry swarm of bees noise.0 -

I watched all matches yesterday and even for me the sound of the blasted things got a bit much in the end. It was like watching the football from inside a bees or wasps nest. They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

Looks like they are considering banning them: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2010/8737455.stm0

Are both BBC and ITV employing pre school age technicians? Every kid knows by recording the background noise separate to the commentator, you can control both sound independently. Thus by turning down the droning noise on the field we would then be able to hear the commentator!
Before they start to blame the Africans, get them to send somebody out to Maplins to buy some sound filters which will do the job just as well.0
