Well I am not an official football fan but turned on the telly after a spot of mowing, happenstance flipped to a football match on ITV. Wow the soundtrack sounds worse than a fly infested wheelie bin.
Is that what is called entertainment atmosphere? Intolerable drone, yikes..
Can anybody explain what is the pleasure of listening to that disgusting sound?
driven back off to my mowing and the sweet purr of a well maintained engine.

It's the vuvuzela, beloved of African football supporters, sadly.0

The plastic trumpet things are very annoying. I suppose they are the new airhorns that used to bellow out around the grounds.
The South Africans seem to think that the constant noise will put players off who aren't used to it.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -
Its the South Africans, they will do this at every game.
Nothing to do with ITV at all.Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
At least you're only hearing them on ITV. I've not got the TV or radio on and I can still flipping hear them because everyone in Manchester seems to have got one from somewhere! Argh!0

Those bleedin things are doing my nut in ; currently watching the Uruguay v. France game with the volume off.I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0

To be honest i like the vuvuzela, i was expecting them to be loud from what ive read and heard, they're not that bad really. The france vs uruguay game is poor so maybe your noticing the vuvuzela too much. Its just the same over here when the fans play the drums at matches0

I love the football but I can't listen to them anymore, i'm listening to my music, both games have given me a banging headache and it's going to put me off watching all the other games. Think happy & you'll be happy

Just wait until they start to make an appearance at games over here. They have irritated me a bit during these first 2 games but i'm sure after another couple of games I wont even notice them.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00

DH was watching the game in one room and I was watching a recording of this weeks Stargate Universe in another room and the b***** noise (that sounded like a swarm of bluebottles buzzing over a dead pig !!!) could be heard even over Stargate.
Its going to be a real pain in the posterior.ELITE 5:2
