    Manicure/pedicure - what girl doesn't like being pampered :D

Biography - either book or dvd/video of one of her favourite sports personality.

New top/cardi/nightie/handbag/ travel bag/suitcase for her weekend away.

Plant for the house or garden.

For my Mum's 80th we bought her an artificial Christmas Tree - we had banned them up until then :rotfl:

It was Mums 80th two weeks ago...someone in the family got her a book which shows the headlines and reports from the newspapers on the day she was born...it also shows the product adverts from the newspapers too...interesting reading....its alll nicely bound...not sure where they got it but presumeably it can be googled....Me I got a canvass print of her cat...she loved it

the book would have been from www.gettingpersonal.co.uk, great presents on here.

For my grandmothers 80th birthday, my brother bought her 80 lottery tickets

another idea is you can have a different cake sent to her every month, can't think of the website - sorry

For my mum's 75th my sister and I took ourselves and the kids (aged 3 to 13) to a china painting shop and covered a plate with handprints. I guess it counts as a knicknack but it's a very personal one and she loves it.

  • A photo of her with all her family around her - in a nice frame? You could either do it yourself, or get one of these photo experience things done professionally, I think there's some quite good deals out there. Check lastminute.com for experiences

Or else something nice for the holiday - manicure? pedicure? facial? haircut?
