I got the same email. I replied because from the wording it appears that she thinks the comment was made by one of askers of questions and not the person who we gave up time to ask questions. It wasn't removed immediately either, it was there for at least 7 minutes.
Hoping her fitflops sales flop!0 -

On behalf of Marcia Kilgore, FitFlop Founder, we would like to apologise for the use of an offensive term during the FitFlop/Boots.com live forum today. Marcia, who is Canadian and lived in the USA for over a decade, used this common USA slang term for 'clumsy' to joke about herself and her inability to walk in high heels. As you can see from the Wikipedia extract below, it is an inoffensive term in the USA and was not meant with any malice. Furthermore, FitFlop has been a proud sponor of Special Olympics Great Britain, which is the country’s largest provider of year-round sports training and competition programme for all people with learning disabilities for the past two years and continues to be actively involved in the charity. Sincere apologies again for any offense taken and feel free to email pr@fitflop.com with any questions that Marcia did not get around to answering in the Boots forum today. There were a record number of participants (over 800) and it was an extremely successful event.
WIKIPEDIA:
In American slang, the term "spaz" is largely inoffensive, and is generally understood as a casual word for clumsiness, sometimes associated with over excitement, excessive energy, or hyperactivity. The term that American teen-agers now use as the opposite of 'tough' is 'spaz'. A spaz is a person who is courteous to teachers, plans for a career..and believes in official values. A spaz is something like what adults still call a square."0 -
