Charges made during the porting process

I recently ported from 02 to Tesco.

The porting date was June 2nd. I was told it would happen at 4pm.

My 02 bundle was 200 mins and up until the day of porting I had only used 130 minutes.

I made a call around 11:00 am on June 2nd to a BT landline number and o2 have charged me for that call.

Is this some kind of hyperspace porting scenario or have o2 got a billing system running on a Sinclair ZX81 ?

Sounds like you've indeed fallen into hyperport billing cyberspace. :D

Your best bet- ring O2 and explain your plight; they may act in goodwill. Expect an proportionate amount of grovelling from them anyway.

Is that 200min for the month?
If you left part way through the month you wouldnt get your full allowance

    Hows that ?

I pay a month in advance, so have already paid for that bundle.

I may be missing the point, but surely you couldn't have made the call on O2 unless you had a connection? Your connection would only have been dropped when they disconnected you and passed you to Tesco.

So, you must, therefore, have been within your already connected - and paid for in advance - bundle? Therefore, no charge should have followed.

As I said, I may have missed the point, but that's my take.

You're 100% correct. The call shows on my o2 bill and I was ( up until 3pm that afternoon ) still with o2. Hence why I wondered if call charges get stuck in the nether-regions during porting.

The porting process takes place between 8:30am and 4:00pm that day according to Tesco support.

So catch-22 - If I am outside my contract having been ported, how could I make a call on a disconnected line?

If I am still connected, I must still be within my contract minutes.

Heads you win, Tails, they should lose.

Once I get hold of the little sods I can put my case forward. But I'm on limited time at present to call them and my emails go unanswered.

To top it off Tesco are charging me for MMS messages which are included in my bundle :(

Sometimes you just cant win :(
