HI there
Were getting our kitchen fitted next week, and still havent decided on what floor to have put down.I need to get it sorted!
Would love ceramic tiles-(would love natural tiles but cant afford it)- but dont they cost alot for labour to lay them?
Also thought about laminate floor, but not sure if ok for kitchen?
So what kitchen floor do you all have any why did you choose it??
I havent got a big budget for the flooring so may end up with cheap vinyl!
Thanks!:)

bits of food from two young kidsYou got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.0

we got our floor tiles from BQ in the sale. just over 100 quid. so not expensive.
i laid them myself.
ps
the flexible adhesive (for wooden floors) is expensive!
i would never use laminate for a kitchen. i dont care what the makers say, they will warp if you have a water leak.Get some gorm.0 -
Nothing wrong with vinyl, as long as the base is absolutely smooth.
Lived in one house with cork tiles - any dropped plates just bounced!A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

I had a big budget
Considered ceramic or natural tiles , looked at
laminate but again worried about water.
I settled for 'expensive ' vinyl
Its warm , not noisy , easily kept clean and should last for years .
And if I drop china on it , they might survive.0 -
the only thing wrong with vinyl is that it aint cheap anymore.
you can get proper tiles for similar money, or even cheaper.Get some gorm.0 -
We've just had ceramic tiles fitted. (creamy/sandy coloured - high polished) We managed to haggle the price down significantly. Worth a try...
We paid £300 for the tiler to lay them, this included supply and fit of 6mm marine ply (as we were tiling onto floorboards) and flexible adhesive, grout and door strip. We are very pleased with them!0 -
We have lino and I think it looks alright. Wasn't particularly cheap though.."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

We have 60 odd year old original herringbone laid red quarry tiles. Obviously we didnt choose them ourselves but I totally love them and I expect if I were to purchase and have them laid now theyd cost a small fortune.0

Thanks everyone
Pimento-love the pic and yes it does look good!
I went to have a look today and yes you are right, did notice that decent Vinyl is near enough the same price as ceramic tiles, so may look more into vinyl.
I think I have gone off laminate flooring..............0 -
Hi we have vinyl too. It is black and grey tile effect and overall looks lovely just wasn't fitted that well. I would like laminate or tiles but worry about any water leaks possibly ruining it all.0
