best way to clean patio?
Hope I'm posting this in the right place!! Can anyone tell me what the best patio cleaner is? My patio is covered in moss and just generally looks awful so I want to get it cleaned up. I have pets so don't want anything that may be harmful to them. Anyone got any suggestions please?

Or keep your pet inside for the duration of the washing, one broom (preferably with stiff bristles), water with bleach in it and (any other cleaning product u care to put in) apply with lots of elbow grease. Look at it, if its clean enough let pet out..,if not do again.
I've done this on mine several times.., always removed moss and green algae look on paving stones and lightens them as well.
However I have to say I bought a pressure washer a few months ago when they were on sale.., quicker and easier and cleans just as good if not better.
They aren't too expensive to buy when talking about the lower range ones but the cheaper ones don't apply much pressure and its a bit over the top to buy one to clean your patio with a couple of times a year. The cheaper onces also only give a narrow spray at highest pressures so it slows the process down (like cleaning a loo floor with a toothbrush lol, it works but takes quite a while lol). The one I bought was capable of various spray widths and came with a patio cleaner but even on sale cost over £70 as I remember. Ebay could offer u some options if u want to go that route but pressure washers do break and altho I am an ebay queen I actually bought new so could return etc easily if i had problems. We loan ours out to the neighbours so we don't feel so bad at spending the money for something we don't use every week lolol.0 -
Yes I was just about to recommend the stiff brush method myself! That's how we clean our patio. Stiff-bristled yard brush, bucket of warm water with either washing-up liquid or bleach in, and off you go! It works very well for us, the brush is strong enough to wave bye bye to any weeds or moss growing."Your life is what your thoughts make it"

If anyone has a vax carpet washer. The dirty water you pick up off the carpet is great for cleaning the patio as it still has the detergent in it. When cleaning the carpets I just throw the dirty water out and give the patio a quick scrub with a brush. I then leave it for a little while, couple of hours if pos but whatever there is time for, and then hose off. Mine always comes up as new.0

I use jeyes fluid, mix it with warm water and spread it around patio and either let it dry or give it a scrub and rinse and it brings it all off. Mine gets a lot of moss so all I do is swill it and leave it. It comes off itself.Look after the pennys and the pounds will look after themselves:money:0

I use a power washer and it's very effective. Just very slow - at least with the spray attachment I have - and hard on the back. I've tried Algon in the past, and can truly say I couldn't see any difference at all. Like the idea of soda crystals though. My OH bought some for a small job just last week and was wondering what to do with the rest!0
