Buying friend MP3 for B'day.She Likes Greenday/Muse. Pls Suggest similar groups/bands

Hi all

I am buying my friend an MP3 player for her Birthday. As a surprise I want to preload it with some music she may like. The player (Sandisk Sansa Clip) has lots of memory so I will load it with lots of groups she lmay like. As far as I know she likes Greenday, Muse, Stereophonics etc. I know she likes groups similar to this and she likes going to festivals. Any ideas what other groups fall into a similar category or style/genre??

Love Muse and Green Day also love Paramore, 30 seconds to Mars, Placebo, My Chemical Romance, The All American Rejects, MGMT, White Lies and Linkin Park. They are all of a similar genre!

Green day, you could have Blink 182, the Offspring, New Found Glory and Bowling for soup, all are similar American pop-punk bands that sound similar to Green Day, from Muse i'd say, Futureheads, Maximo Park, Lostprophets, Kings of Leon and similar Indie rock bands

Three Days Grace are fab, Riot, I hate everything about you, Animal i've become, Over and over are my personal faves

i second all the above except biffyclyro, saw them live and they were terrible to the point of people leaving

and i add soundgarden...black hole sun is unbelieveablely good

Sum 41, Offspring, Linkin Park, Audioslave might be worth a look. Why not watch a bit of Kerang if you have the channel and see what sounds similar to her taste. It's a really nice gift for someone, please let us know how it goes...
