Item hasn't been delivered yet?

I sent an item second class recorded delivery on the 2nd of June. I check back every few days to see if the items I send have been delivered, but the Royal Mail website is still saying the item is being processed through the network for delivery.

I've sent off other items after this that have reached their destination faster. I've had no contact from the buyer saying that they haven't received it, but I'm wondering if I should contact them to see if a card has been left if someone tried to post it but no one was in, or Royal Mail to see where it is?

According to other posts on this forum, recorded delivery rarely tracks through to delivery. Yours is probably one of the items that has been safely delivered but you will never get tracking information for it online.

Ah, that's good to know. I've just messaged the buyer asking if they've had one of those "we posted it but you weren't in" cards through the door if it was delivered while they weren't home because she hasn't left feedback yet either so I presumed the item was still undelivered.
  • I send out lots of tickets out recorded delivery but 9 times out of 10 on the Royal Mail tracking it states... being processed

I would recommend never contact a buyer to ask if they have received an item. If they are unscrupulous and have received it. It flags up the fact that you don't know so they can put a claim in for non receipt and get refunded even if they have the item. 99% of buyers are honest but there is always the one.

Also feedback is not a good judge of if they have received it. Feedback is optional some buyers don't leave any others leave it in batches.

If an item hasn't arrived or there is a problem your buyers will get in contact

Tickets need to be sent Special Delivery. They are not insured for loss with Recorded delivery

Simple way to check is to phone Royal Mail and give them the number.

If you have recorded items that do not show as delivered with a signature on the tracking (even though delivered) apparently RM will give you a book of stamps for each one. Good value for 74p.

Soolin is the expert on this and will no doubt be along soon to give details.

That'd be nice! Another buyer messaged me to say thanks for an item and it been delivered, but RM said was still being processed.

After I sent the message to the buyer I regretted it just in case they decided to get the item for free by saying it wasn't delivered and getting a refund. Lets just hope I don't get my first bad experience with ebay.

If they haven't got the information on the tracking. Why do you think putting that number into a RM computer will give a different answer?
