The best option will be to keep your working hours to just 16 or under so you can then still claim all your other benefits to the full amount that you're entitled to. :)
What 'information' that i wrote is wrong?

I haven't written factual 'information' or references to benefits legislation,
merely have given my own 'opinion' which cannot be classed as right or wrong.
    Your opinion is wrong

Loss of ctc and wtc if she works over 16hours per week.

what makes you think she'll be better off working 15(or less) hours rather than 16 hours (or more)?

I understand what aphrodite is saying which is my point originally. If I worked at the original 18 hours, I would lose the CTC I believe. If I worked at 15 (or is it 16 min?) hours I could still claim my CTC (giving me a bit of extra pocket money). I am not trying to milk any benefits or anything, just trying to make ends meet and if I had to accept the 18 hours & nothing less I would do as my aim is to work full time once kids are in full time (and when a full time postition is available).
Thanks for all your help x

Pmpl WHy dont you just calm down or fcuk off you wierdo. :rotfl:

Seriously this isn't a legal courtroom, its a website where people go to post their own personal opinions on various topics!

Go get a life you freak

trouble is you're not actually posting your opinions.

you're posting (incorrect) facts, and now pretending they're just opinons.

Telling the OP she will be better off financially working less that 16 hours (FACT - albeit a false one).
Telling the OP she wouldn't be able to claim as much WTC/CTC but will be earning far more than they deduct (fact - a true one)
Telling the OP you think you'd rather work less and be paid less or work more and be paid more - Opinion.

Look im just going by the info that the OP herself gave.

''No, I get £138 wk ctc, but if I was getting £6 hour its only £36 day, I dont get paid for dinner hour. This makes me worse off (£118 pw).''

The only benefits i claim are jsa and housing&council tax benefit.

Don't have kids and only work fulltime jobs, so have no personal experience of the specifics of tax credits.

You are some very odd weird people though who take things way too seriously, and need to get off your computers and get lives! :rotfl:

No this part of the website is about giving correct information not incorrect drivel, maybe you would like to have a quick look at the forum rules perhaps?

if your husband is full time, and you work less than 16 hours, then firstly kiss goodbye to any childcare help - you already said you had a pre-school child, dont forget teacher training days either when factoring your childcare costs.

Second, you need to calculate your claim based upon what your husbands earnings WILL be in 4 weeks time when he start work. Once you've done that, I guarantee that you will NOT be better off workign less than 15 hours rather than 18 hours.

Shes not earning zero though is she?

Shes working 16hours (2days) per week, and i assume shes hoping to be offered fulltime work eventually of 38/40hours per week.

I didn't mean she would be earning zero....
It's like saying no I don't want to earn £200 a week working 30 hours. I'd rather struggle on by with my 16 hour a week job that only brings in £100.

Apparently anything more than that it just pointless.....

Sorry if ive given you any incorret info hun.
I've never claimed ctc or wtc, and so was just going by what you said your calculations were about the 16hour rule,
as i know for jsa we have a 16hours per week rule before cut off.

Theres some very weird and rude people on here though so im gna leave.
Hope it works out well for you though. :)
