Seeamje - have you heard anything yet ?

We rang yesterday and ours is still with the Medical Advisory Team - its been with them for over a week now (claim went in 8 weeks before that) - do you or anyone else know how long the medical team 'usually' have the claims for before a decision is made ?
    Thanks everyone x

    No

I rang today for an update and was told it is still with medical services. The chap did say that it can go to them for lots or reasons and that if I had sent extra evidence (which I did) that they are probably just checking my evidence. I gave docs reports and therapy reports so am hoping that is what it is. He told me not to worry. Fingers crossed

    Will keep you updated.

mine went for renewal, i have a degenerative condition and supplied mri scans that clearly showed marked degeneration as well as proof that i am now on morphine for pain relief-result was that they took away my higher rate of mobility completely and lowered my care to the minimum amount, despite indisputable proof that i was worse than when they made the last desicion!

Its the written report thats important, not MRIs because they dont show pain, take any few people, scan them and in many cases the people who are the fittest have degeneration where as the imobile show no problems at all and thats why they arnt much good for DLA use.

They are certainly not indistputable proof that you are worse.

Morphine isnt a strong pain killer, its a myth and there are much stronger, better meds for long term pain managment, there are also a huge rafts of other treaments to use alongside these meds to maintain a good pain managment regime.

    Hello Everyone

As i stated earlier my dla went to medical services and then they wrote to my consultant for further advice, I have been in contact with the doctor and she said she had not received anything from dla and is now going on extended leave for nine weeks from today.

Does anybody know what will happen now? Will i get turned down as this is my reconsideration and they have been looking at it for nine weeks now or will they not use the consultants report if they can't contact her.

    Thank you for help

Could the doctor write you a letter before she goes away that covers the points that they will ask her to confirm ???
I can imagine that you are really frustrated - hang in there !! x

I don't know what they are asking her but she wrote me a letter previously which was ignored. I really don't care anymore. I a,m not contacting them anymore and will wait until they get in touch as they said 11 weeks and its been nine.

    Thanks for the support.
