Defo get over to the OS board where many people live on very low budgets for food. If this is a one off month you may well find if you do an inventory of your cupboards/fridge/freezer you have loads of ingredients you can use up.

Just put enugh petrol in the car to do the works run and one trip to the shops, anything else is non essential and can wait/walk/cycle. Then make a plan of the meals you will eat, including your "inventory" work out what you will need to buy, and do your shop as cheaply as possible. May even be worth cadging a few meals at Mum and Dads/good mates/siblings?

There are 6 of us and I could get the food down to around £50 per week if pushed (have done this in the past), this still includes healthy eating and your five a day, but is based around smaller portions of meat and some veggie meals.

    good luck

This thread is 9 days old, hopefully by now the OP has found the best forums to post on. Hopefully that £120 is still stretching too :)

Check out this website - £25 per person per month to cover all meals and snacks. The plan contains more than the recommended five a day per person - the catch, though, is that you do need to rely on frozen and dried to some extent. There is a second planner in the pipeline to address that, though - but in the meantime, if you simply can not live without fresh, it is possible to follow the plan to a large extent and just add a bit of fresh F&V yet still be well below the average on the food spends.

eat well on £10 a week? lmao

    dreamer

I used to live on £10 a week as a student. Can't say I manage it now, too tempted by silly foods!! Even managed to get some fresh fruit/veg from the market in there!

I'd say if you on't mind veggie sausages they're often on offer in the frozen section of most places for £1. Go to supermarkets late if you can and pick up some bits in reduced isle. My saving grace with food are the european supermarkets MR L/ MR A!! Money stretches a LOT further there. Hope this helps.

Also a bit of walking, good for the heart/purse/figure helps me when money is tight which it is for me until payday. whoops!
