Hi,
The card company (barclaycard) rang us to alert us to a suspicious transaction. We confirmed that we had not made the transaction.
They have proceeded to cancel the cards and told us we cannot use our account online till we receive the new cards. I am a bit puzzled as to why they have completely blocked online access, how am i supposed to check if there are any further transactions?
Obviously i understand the need for cancelling the cards but not quite sure about the online access.
Also they have told us they will send a dispute form. Again why do they need to do this when we have told them we have not carried out the transaction?
We could do with advice from anyone that has had a similar experience.
thanks

The bad news is that you have also lost access to your entire online account history because of the way their stupid system works. Also they have told us they will send a dispute form. Again why do they need to do this when we have told them we have not carried out the transaction?0 -
What you should be asking Barclay Card is how the fraud was perpetrated.
1. Did someone clone your card and use your PIN?
2. Did someone use your card details?
The reason for asking these pertinent questions are to let you take the appropriate steps to protect yourself.
You maybe using the same PIN (compromised) for several cards. By knowing if your PIN was compromised allows you to either change your PIN or get hold of Chip & Signature Cards.
If you Card Details have been compromised, other personal information may have been compromised too. Keep an eye on your Credit Files.
Another tip, if you were paying any type of subscription using this card, don't forget to contact whoever and update your card details (when you receive your new card).

The dispute form allows them to charge the transaction back if it was done over the phone or on the internet.
Bit silly they block your online account access, normally this is only done if they can't get in touch with you and it would prompt you to call them.0
