I wonder if its time to convert all of my points. Lack of click throughs = lack of new advertisers = lack of cash = pigsback in trouble?

CTs are essentially 'free money' for us. PB still have to pay us regardless of whether we buy or not. I would guess there are too many people now signing up for the 'free money' without actually spending anything - if we don't spend via PB, then they don't get their cut ie they get no money but they still have to pay out for all the CTs.

I don't think a lack of new advertisers/lack of click throughs is indicative that they are in trouble....more that maybe they are rethinking their business model because too many people don't buy through them (I could be totally wrong :) ) and too many people are just waiting for the CTs and comps (ie the 'free money').

As for adding 3-6 companies per week...not sure this is possible. It would be harder to administrate and follow. Plus, it might confuse people and also might 'weaken' their brand (not the best word to choose...but my brain is mush right now!) - they have fairly well known advertisers right now, and they may want to stick with them, rather than going down the smaller brand routes.

It's sort of made me wonder....the competition winners - are they *really* random, or are they weighted, so if you buy through pigsback a lot, you have more chance of winning the piggypoints....would explain why there are a lot of repeat winners (you have to love conspiracy theories :rotfl:)

    Just my 2p :)

There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

why dont they add sites like kelkoo like other freebie sites do..this would encourage more people on their site and they could offer piggypoints for clicking on them..getting paid by kelkoo{or similar} so they would not lose put in any way.

I was having a quick surf around about PB, and ended up on the homepage of the company that 'runs' them, or manages the brand, Empathy Marketing http://www.empathymarketing.com/#company

If you have a look down on the left-hand side, you can download a PDF of their "rate-card" - this is the promotional material that shows advertisers how much it costs to run a campaign through PB

Quite interesting reading when you go through it, and see how much PB are getting for the various offers that they run

One interesting example is the "Offer Pages" (described as 'Marketing Tool 5') which are the standard little boxes on the PB home page. If you look at it, it costs businesses E7,000 for a 3-month campaign. If they pay E12,000, then they get the 'premium' service, which includes click-throughs...

...so PB are getting E5,000 (about £3,400) extra for offering CTs. That means that unless they get 34,000 CTs for a particular offer, this extra money will have been worth it (at 10p per CT)

Given that PB has a couple of hundred thousand members, you can see why the CTs are drying up - if they had to give away 10p to everyone who clicked on them, it wouldn't be financially viable for them

A ton of other useful information on that rate card, but I'm way too exhausted from the BH weekend to read it!
