Kzlnd wrote:Am i the only one who thought it was a bit naff of Pigsback to have one of their employees on here, the MSE/Money Saving Expert Forum?
To have an employee answering questions and giving information on a forum not associated with Pigsback seemed odd. Just odd, Pigsback have their own forums don't they? Didn't understand that.
Sorry just my opinion, would be the same if other companies did this also.
I'm sure Darragh was fab and a great help  just seemed an odd thing for a company to allow one of it's employees to do?
I thought that aswell.0 -
It's naff. A professional company wouldn't have one of their employees visit and post answers/help on a forum not associated with them. I thought it was a little unprofessional, just my opinion
I did say that I was aware that Darragh was helpfulI'm aware he give hints of the 10 point clicks, answered complaints and some questions which helped members.
I just didn't think that was very appropriate, surely Pigsback would have preferred it's members to discuss issues and problems directly via them and not on this forum.
I'm not aware of the Quidco threads as I'm not a member, but if they also have an employee dealing with complaints and questions on a forum not associated to the company, I'd find it odd too!Claire_DC wrote:I don't think it was 'naff' at all, i think he actually provided a lot of help for people who asked for it. I see the logic of him being on here also, as they're obviously aware of the massive pigsback threads on here and the amount of people who use both this website and pigsback so why not sign up on here and participate in a thread about the company they work for? Ok it's not a pigsback forum (and i'm sure that they do 'understand' that they have a forum also), but it is a pigsback thread and they have as much right as anybody to come on here if they like - their forums might not have been so busy or they may have wanted to be in touch with as many people who use pigsback as possible.. i don't see this as a bad or odd thing?!
I also know there is somebody who works for quidco that participates on the quidco thread so it's not totally uncommon for this to happen.
I really don't understand what is so odd about it lol.The £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00  :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.

It happens all over the place. There is a forum I read where Yahoo and Google both have a few dedicated employees all posting comments and generally helping the users out. It's great because you get to see the 'other side of the fence' so to speak, and you generally get better answers over the normal template emails that they farm out0 -

I think some many people found that if they sent an email to pigsback that they shouldn't expect a response within the next 2 years. So having a different source to get answers to questions was useful.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

TBH, I think the Darragh appearances were more to do with free market research than helpfulness, but the fact that they did sometimes help was a welcome bonus. I agree things have been pretty lean since he left. I suppose it might perk up though. I do wish, like others, that there were more choices to shop through. Recently I've actually gone out of my way to try to find ways to purchase things I want through PB, to no avail. They actually seem to have less choices as the months go by.0

The other day, I emailed PB to say that I wanted to buy a gift for someone keen on gardening, and that there were no rewards connected with gardening. I suggested a source of vouchers, and also mentioned that perhaps that source could become one of their advertisers, too.
If you have good ideas about retailers who might be interested in PB, let them know, and maybe their sales team will follow it up.Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930
