Saving data from Nokia 6500?

Does anyone know if there's a way to save all my calendar data and notes from my Nokia 6500 slide to my PC (and ideally transfer it to my new handset), please?

I now have a Samsung Jet and am sending the Nokia off to Fonebank, but I need to get the data off first.

I've tried backing it up to PC Suite, but I can't access it without the handset.

You just might be able to if you were going from Nokia to Nokia, but Nokia to Samsung, not a hope. Completely different file formats.

Someone could make a stack of ££ witting a prog to do this, but no one ever (as far as I can tell) has.

Is the only way to cut and paste all my notes etc into a word document to save?
(It's the calendar notes I particularly need).

Unless someone comes along that knows a way round it, I suspect that's going to be about the only way.

There's no compatibility between manufactures for this kind of data.

Thanks Jon - it never occurred to me wheh I had to get a new handset.

Thinking about it logically, I just need to get the notes on my computer in a document I can use eg word - I don't actually need to put them on the Samsung.
