Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Thur 10th June. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good

Morning.

Blue sky for the moment, but they are talking of some heavy showers possible later. Although the bloke on the news did not really know where they might end up.

Fishing was a success! I did not win, but a success for me was everyone shows up, all had a good day and it all went to plan. Thankfully it did. I managed only 5th out of 23, but could not get the few fish I needed to make up the difference. Maybe next time.... No rain though.

Work today and then 3 days weekend off. Seems an easy life some time. OH is struggling to find supply again. Cornwall is a nice place to live, but being rural there is not always the opportunities of a big city.

Have a nice day every one...

Glad you day went well & that your tackle all worked well!
Dropped hubby at the station, he's getting to work early at the moment as there are a few problems. I'm off to work soon but will go to DD's first with some fruit, this is the week when she has month left & no money, so I'm taking bananas, grapes & blueberries as they are all on offer at the moment.
I did a lovely chorizo & potato bake last night as hubby worked late & needed something I could leave in the Remoska till he got home, I got it from Consuming the Harvest blog, hers was chorizo & potato in creme fraise (sp) I made a white sauce added sliced potato & chorizo, sprinkled with cheese & baked til brown & crunchy on top, it was yummy & we've both got leftovers for lunch.
    Have a good day everybody
    Hugs Hester

Morning N9eav and all who follow.
very grey and murky in north Kent and looking like it will stay that way today.Another sticky night and not much sleep, but I can always have a snooze later. Oven cleaning company coming today I am intrigued to see how it will work.Hopefully quite well as my oven is a bit on the grotty side.I don't use it that much as I have a Remoska and seem to use that a lot more.At up and watched the E4 BBbig mouth last night only because DD said DGS was in it and he got his credit at the end.I think it must be a sign of getting old as I just don't get BB or its other programmes .Davina McCall seems to be on something the way she kept twitching around and I find the whole programme more than slightly absurd and very infantile.Definitely getting old I think. There was a very odd man called I think Westwood who looks around 50 and was also trying to pretend he was about 16.I am happy that DGS is working at what he wants to do and it will get a good credit on his CV for furthr jobs ,but the programme itself is not for me at all.right off to get the coffee pot on or I shall not last the morning.Have a good day everyone
    Cheers JackieO xx

    Morning all,

Bit cold and windy here today, we are meant to be getting heavy rain tonight.

When dd and i got in from work yesterday the people at the back of our garden were having a flaming row, this is something that happens at least once a week, the the swearing is the most terrible thing I have ever heard, honestly think of the very worst words you can think of, and these are screamed at the top of her voice for a good 1/2 hour, I did think about phoning the police, she sounds so violent, but having just moved here I really dont want to cause a row, any ideas ??

Anyway off to work today, so a quick swipe around this morning, will shove a wash on tonight, dinner will be scampi (bogof) and chips with peas, dd will have quorn nuggets.

OH has put the voile blinds up on the landing windows, feels much better up there now, I felt like everyone was looking in before.

Sainsbugs are delivering tonight, and I have a visit from my at home boss, to exchange paperwork etc.

NPM 2 nights :Twell done you, hope you have had a lay in xx

    Marie welcome back xx

    Have good days all xx

    morning all.

Well I am carrying on...can`t say I am at my happiest at the moment but the week will end eventually. Its strange but I feel like I have no purpose at the moment and can`t get on with anything:o
Redruby yes only 5 more nights to go:j. Do you work from home now? How is DD getting on at her work experience?
ButterflyBrain he is back on Tues teatime so still a fair way to go yet:o
Snoozer the big day is here:T:T:Thave a great reunion with DD:j:beer:

Well still not done the decluttering:o not been in the mood . Today am going to make some strawberry jam as DS started on the last jar from last year before he went on hols. Am also making a ginger cake from my new cookbook which arrived yesterday " Sarah Ravens family and friends book"....I blame Thriftlady...still pushing cookerybooks from her blog even when she isn`t on here:whistle:
Am also making oven baked potato, cherry toms and pork steaks with feta crumbled over for tea as last night we ended up with bacon and eggs on toast:o. Will make some HM crusty bread to go with it.
If I still have time on my hands may do some mealplans but the weather makes it difficult to plan at the mo.

    Morning everyone:wave:
Sorry haven't been on for a while. Things have been hectic!!
N9eave - Glad the fishing went well sounds very relaxing and peaceful
Redruby - Could you call the police but say ou don;t want to get involved so not to disclose who phoned. Thats what I did when we had a problem at old flat with violent neighbours.
NPM - would you recommed the cookbook? I love cookbooks but don't seem to cook much out of them!! Was looking for a new one that hopefully I'd use lots
JC2703 - so sorry things are so difficult, don't really know what to suggest as I have no experience of this type of thing but wanted you to know I'm thinking of you and ((((((HUGS))))))
Got the usual to do today but also have to do meal plan as haven't done it for ages!!
Weather doesn't look too bad today although could do with some sunshine up here as its DD sports day tomorrow
    Have a great day everyone

    .

Hi Hun, I have two jobs, one where i go out to the office, and I picked up an at home job a few weeks ago, I only do a few hours for them, but the money helps :D

DD is having the best time ever, she is coming home shattered each night :D, but she is meeting all the clients and getting on very well with them, they all seem to like her, they have great fun together, she said it has confirmed to her that she wants to work in that field :T

Snoozer, enjoy your reunion, I bet you cant wait :T

JC, How terrible for you all, I hope something gets sorted for you and your sons xxx

    Morning all

Thanks to you all for the very kind words and messages, it helps so much to know that people are thinking of us at this time x

    Dry but very overcast here.

Funeral and wake have been organised already for nan for the 22 June. OH, DS1 and DS2 seemed brighter last night and this morning, I think we had been waiting for it to happen but when it did it's always still a shock. On a cherrier note SIL and nephew came for dinner last night and they both completely cleared their plates so evidently my food is not that bad! She was really grateful that we had invited her as she is a single parent and has no-one to support her at this time as she is grieving. Cooked a roast chicken and a loin of pork, yorkshires, roast pots, mashed pots, carrots, broccolli and cauliflower cheese and gravy - yummy! So have some leftover chicken and pork - will be doing something with those later for dinner tonight.

Have lots to do today, don't really know where to start - can't seem to get motivated but I must otherwise nothing will get done and I won't have boys ready for going away tomorrow or us!

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.
