Help :(

Got this when loading up Google Chrome - been all over the internet and found many possible solutions, some I have tried, others I am too scared to do so :(

I think it's some kind of virus caused my Microsoft updates judging by some sites.

Anyone aware of this and what can be done to save my PC? :(

    If you suspect a virus etcetera do the following (instructions written by alienRIK):

    Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_ma..._anti_malware/
    Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
    Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
    Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

    reboot

    Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD THIS VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/2894/
    Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
    (do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)

    Sorry to butt-in on this one but when performing this sort of operation should existing security software be disabled first?

    Thanks.

    I already have malwarebytes, so that's running now. I'll then download hijackthis from your link and run it.

    It's only affecting Google Chrome at the moment . I've tried one solution and it worked, but then found out it cut out all browser security and stability so changed it back. Tried uninstallling/reinstalling but to no avail.

    Will post back.

    I think these can be removed although I'm not a real techie so do get confirmation from others:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB} - (no file)
    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)

    In my eyes nothing wrong with the log although I could be wrong so a latest malwarebytes scan (UPDATED DEFINTIONS and LATEST VERSION) would confirm if computer is safe or not. You can remove lavasoft as people do say it isn't what it used to be and system heavy.

    To Artha: You can run malwarebytes and hijackthis without disabling your antivirus.

    Thanks. I'll run another malwarebytes scan and see what it brings. I'll update first.

    Okay, the first malwarebytes yesterday found nothing.

    First today -

    Registry Keys Infected:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ErrorRepairPro (Rogue.ErrorRepairProfessional) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

    Files Infected:
    C:\Qoobox\Quarantine\C\Program Files\Error Repair Professional\ErrorRepairProfessional.exe.vir (Rogue.ErrorRepairProfessional) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
    C:\System Volume Information\_restore{DBBF6A00-093B-4FC7-8AEB-8ADE59C7E5AC}\RP140\A0057398.exe (Rogue.ErrorRepairProfessional) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
    C:\System Volume Information\_restore{DBBF6A00-093B-4FC7-8AEB-8ADE59C7E5AC}\RP143\A0058422.DLL (Malware.Packer.Gen) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

    The second has found nothing (I ran it again after deleting the infected files)

    What next? An Antivir scan? And should I really delete ad-aware? I've noticed it's not as good as it used to be, but should I still uninstall?
  • May you post the whole log please of 2 both recent logs? (open malwarebytes = Logs tab = today's dated log = double click opens notepad = copy and paste).
