  • Had some good news today, the 1st of out 10 creditors has agreed to the reduced payment and hold on the interest.:T Although I not sure if it is the actual creditor or a DCA.

Also had a letter from Tesco outlining how much we own although no mention of excepting the reduced payment or holding the interest :(

One question do I need to let CCCS know about these letters?

    Cheers

    Hi everyone.
Glad your review went ok TF. I also wonder what happens if you have to decrese your payments. We have only just started but as I have mentioned before we have suddenly had a massive bill fom Eon (for once not really our fault). Nothing is sorted out yet but it looks as if our payments to them will have to increase which will reduce our available balance for DMP which scares me as will look bad to our creditors most of which haven't accepted our payments yet.

I'm rambling on but hope it will be ok for all of us. At the end of the day Tooth Fairy you do have to be able to live and Payplan know what they are doing.

Tesco have written to us today saying they have accepted our payments. No mention of freezing interest well of course they wouldn't as they have already lumped on about £6000 of interest on to the figure they submitted!! And we are only paying £20 less than we were before. This is a confusing game.

Monthly bill from Post Office with no acknowledgement of DMP just interest and late payment fee due to the fact that we didn't pay enough last month. Its scary because I'm already worrying about that additional sum acumulating every month.
Should we write again or is that usual?
    Thanks everyone

  • Thanks, PDD, PC and LL, am still feeling jittery today! Lou, we got some scary mail at the start, too. It seems a lot of it is computer generated, but if you are worried then by all means forward it to PP/CCCS if that helps. Am just going to log on to Justabank now to see if we still owe everyone 5 million quid!!

Thinking of you Toothfairy, hope that you are not too stressed by your review, I'm sure everthing will sort itself out:)
  • Thank you, Ellie, when I went on the Justabank site earlier, I was amazed to see that everyone has accepted our offers sent on Thursday!! All, of course, except Sainsburys Visa, who wouldn't accept your firstborn and a tiara with full payment, so I am very relieved. Having said that, the lowest creditor only went down by 17p, so I wonder why I got myself into this state. Even when I rang OH at work on Thursday, he was panicking that the payment was down as well, saying things I was thinking like, "Oh God, I hope they don't take this out on us!".
It just shows how all this really affects us all, doesn't it? I am very grateful for the advice and support shown to me,it has really helped.

    Hi All,

Just thought I would drop you all a quick message because it makes me feel better each month when I redo my calculations and see the money coming down and I hope some of the newbies notice too and it makes them feel better that a DMP does work.

I also phoned CCCS and did a budget review, as I have had an unexpected incremental pay increase, due to my hard work apparently!!!! The lady was sooooooo nice and it turned out she did my review last year as well which was a bit wierd. So I've increased my payment by £68 which means BOS permitting I will be debt free in 4 years. Which is about 2 years less than when I started. I write to my creditors when this happens so they get something form me as well as CCCS and I will be asking BOS nicely to reconsider reducing interest, I really can't help that I am now paying above the minimum paymet so just need to make them see I am still not finicially ok!!!! I will also have paid a family loan off by next April so will be able to add this money to the payment too.

It has been hard work, but actually fun sometimes. I think me and my OH have learnt a lesson and that we can surive on a lot less than we belived or thought necessary. It is just those moments when I occasionaly think about being debt free and wonder what I will actually do with £745 (my new payment) each month.

We have got so used to the budget and I am so into the money saving thing I think I want even want to spend it but will start to get the secured loan sorted, well for a while at least until my real dream happens of a little un happens.

Sorry for waffling guys, got a bit carried away.

    Sx
I've just re-read this, what a great post!
Imagine, a forum baby, how cool would that be? Bless you, SMcShane and good luck! Reading stuff like this must really help someone considering taking our path and I hope that £745 comes round very quickly! I nearly felt a wee poem coming on then, ha ha!:rotfl:

:rotfl:Wonder if they'd take my first, second and third born!! (end of a long summer holday)

On a serious note how great that its all accepted for you. It is so stressful and we've got a very long time ahead of us. I can't ee bear to think of how old we will be when this is all over.

Mcshane it must be very exctiting to be quite near the end of your DMP (well realitively speaking compared to me) I wish you all the luck with your new addition aswell when they come. We were a long time waiting for our babies and now an equal wait to get through this DMP:mad:

What if none of ours agree to freeze interest? Its something thats going through my mind a lot at the moment

I know what you mean Loubylou about freezing payments, that was my big worry and whilst most of my creditors say that my payments are not enough they have at least frozen the interest which I'm pleased about:o

Thanks Ellie. I wonder if there is anything we can do about the Late Pyment fee we have had twice now from the Post Office?

Hmmm, not sure about that one. Maybe worth a try?
