The Gym is the classic post christmas/new year resolution, and tbh it's normally a fad! I lost two stone when I started the dmp, just by cutting down (learning to cook proper!), and getting rid of the car (I commute by train, and walk everywhere in the city).
Try getting a bike perhaps from freegle or freecycle (or one in the sales!), and get out into that lovely countryside!
Quite right, agree completely. I shall resurrect the two wheeled contraption that is lolling in the corner of the garage - a legacy from a previous fitness fad, long since dismissed in favour of sticky cakes, lol.
No, seriously, I absolutely concur with your comments. Especially as I am on the edge of the Yorkshire moors and blessed with an abundance of cycle trails which I used to enjoy very much on aforementioned bicycle. I just need to get in the habit again:jLBM August 2011. DFD somewhere post [STRIKE]2025[/STRIKE]2022

Hi all,
Just a quick update - paid off £35k so far, latest estimate on DFD is June 2012, and for all those starting out I've found there are some really good stages on a DMP.
1st one is getting started and stopping the constant worry.
2nd not getting chasing calls all the time
3rd when your first debt is cleared
4th when one of your big ones e.g. one of mine was over £6k
5th when your into your last year
6th when your into your last six months.DFD - June 20120 -

Brilliant news, well done. I love hearing success stories, keeps me going.
Any plans after DMP?

Well deserved. Good luck in your new chapter.
Does anyone else dream and make plans for those first two months post DMP?

Still feeling low and weepy about the whole thing - hoping thoughts will get lighter soon.
We hadn't been chased for debts before we started the DMP, had managed, just, not to default on anything, so the irony is that being in a DMP might cause more, not less, trauma in the short term. Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
Oct 2012 = Current debt: £40,548.93
Oct 2013 = Current debt: £39.054.70
