Hi everyone
Hope you don't mind me joining!
I'm just about to start a DMP with CCCS- received a txt message from the yesterday saying it has been set up and my first payment is due on the 10th January. I only sent the paperwork back to them last week, can't believe how quickly it has been set up. I sent letters and £1 token payments last week. I'm feeling concerned about two debts in particular- Lloyds TSB overdraft (£3000) and Student Loans Company, which is with a DCA (currently at around £860)
I have opened a new account with Natwest- I have changed my bank details for child benefit and tax credits and hope it goes into new account before Lloyds realise. I also need to downgrade my account type, as currently paying a fee each month. These fees are due on the 1st Jan (along with overdraft interest amounts to around £45) Not sure whether to put the money in for this, think I probably should try to?? I just know they are going to be very difficult.0 -

Most of the letters that we get asking for wage slips are the standard ones sent out by banks and sending the cashflow SOA has always been accepted. To get onto cashflow I spoke with nationaldebtline and they arranged for a cashflow specialist to call me. Easy to set up and run with. PM if you want any advise.
Thanks for the advice.
The CFS I sent was complied with CCCS and using all the recognised trigger figures ( using the online tool). All my other creditors are all on board and accepted my SOA straight away. Just Capital one are being awkward.
I will just carry on making payments pertain to the offer submitted and call cccs again to see what can be done. There are better things in life than worrying about money…like nailing a jelly to a tree for example.0 -
Hi all, I need some advice. I'm at the start of my dmp, first payment on Jan 1st, I have just received a letter from studio saying they will not even consider lower payments because of the recent vast increase in my balance and will be telling cccs the same thing. Unfortunately I ordered some birthday presents at the beginning of dec and a few days later my husbands hours were cut in half, which is when I decided dmp.
So my question is wat to do next, do I send them a letter telling them about my husbands job and that when I ordered the stuff I thought I could meet the minimums, basically write them a begging letter or shall I just leave it and see wat happens next, which is scaring me alot.
Hi, i was in a similar situation as my DMP was brought about by my ex husband losing his job and therefore I suddenly had no maintenance. It may well be that Studio change their mind once CCCS get in touch and that they are simply trying to scare you. I would send CCCS a copy of Studio's letter and leave it up to them to deal at this point in time. You can then get in touch with Studio later if they still dig in their heels.

Thankyou for ur speedy reply, I've been quite calm with setting all this dmp stuff up, well until today, first studio letter, then I find out tax credits have gone into my old account not my new one, so had a mad dash to the cashpoint at 9 this morning. Joyanne, it will get easier I promise you. So much stress I know, but at least you can enjoy Christmas knowing that you are taking control back of your debts.
I had a bit of a setback today when I realised Santander have not frozen interests and charges on my overdraft:mad: So, I need to deal with that now, but hey - they cannot have what I have not got. The greatest gift to me from my DMP was the ability to sleep at night and not wake up in the early hours worrying about how I was going to meet my minimum payments!
Good luck - you are nearly there now:)LBM August 2011. DFD somewhere post [STRIKE]2025[/STRIKE]2022

Hi it's nice to know I'm not the only one around with a great big newbie sticker. All I've done at the mo is left my old bank account, I think once they realise ur on a dmp then they will add charges onto it anyway. Also I think Natwest is owned by rbs who are owned by lloyds so I don't know where u stand there with off setting. I'm sure someone will be along soon that can give you some more detailed advice xLBM - December 2011, Total Debt - £13493.30, DFD - Mar 2021

Welcome
You need to write explaining that you did not know about your husbands job at the time of ordering and that you are committed to paying it off. It will not change anything for now but it will be on record for when you appeal later.

Be prepared for hiccups, it's all learning but you will be moving forward, remember that.
