good start for my dmp
sent off all the paperwork to cccs 10 days ago and also letters to my creditors.
a few days after the letters were sent, cccs called me just to check my income.
also got a letter from tsb thanking me for letting them know i am having problems financially
got a letter today from virgin/mbuna saying they have accepted my offer and that interest is 0%
so that leaves sainsburys loan and credit card departments to get in touch, and also tsb to close my current account
so far so good.
has anyone had experience with sainsburys?
just wondering how co-operative they are
also how long does it usually take to close accounts with tsb?
Sainsburys have been fine with me. Stopped interest and moved over to a DCA very quickly.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
LMAO - in the continuing saga of business bank account, Payplan are now saying they can't include DH business account because he is still operating as a sole trader!!!!!!!!!!
Now he also has a personal account with same bank with a £2k O/D, so it would make sense to me that if we include this in DMP and not business account - the bank could panic and withdraw £5k O/D facility and close the account, and demand payment.
The way I see it is to delay starting DMP and clear personal o/d of £2k ASAP, which will take several months as sadly we don't have a spare 2000 pound coins lying about.
Any ideas?0 -
I finally took the plunge and phoned CCCS to talk about my finances. They recommended a DMP so I've sent off the form and all my income so waiting to hear!0

Well done for taking that first step. Keep strong and positive and all will be well. Good luck! Stick around and post on here with your experiences and/or questions.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -

I have a question for those with more knowledge than me! I'm now less than a year away from my DFD - payments going out fine and creditors all getting well above the contractual amount but luckily no one kicking up a fess (i.e. not adding interest etc. - well bar one or two but it's v much reduced).
It looks like I might get a pay rise soon (woo hoo - but am not counting my chickens of course). Now obviously I know that I could increase my DMP payment and therefore clear the debt in a shorter period of time OR - do I have to tell my DMP company? My thoughts being a) I really don't want to rock the boat with the creditors now with such a short space of time to go, and b) that extra money could be squirreled away to make a few F&Fs as I get towards the end of the plan (or indeed as a slush emergency fund which I don't have at all at the moment). I don't want to risk angering my DMP company who have been ace to me, but it seems such a shame to go mucking everything up when it's all working so well.
What do you all think? Could my DMP company find out (if I don't tell them that is - they've never asked to see my payslips but I suppose it could suddenly happen). I also suppose it would mean not telling them at my next review - which ok ok is lying, and I confess I'm not too comfortable doing that (plus am rubbish at lying anyway!).
I just know deep down that increasing my payment will mean some of the preditors think they can get even more by starting to add interest (I had a few wobbles a few months ago when a few threatended but it never happened). I wonder if anyone thinks this might be the time to consider doing my own DMP? But then I guess the preditors would want to see my payslips anyway? Plus I've been so impressed by the DMP company I'm loath to leave them....
Argh - what to do? Would appreciate your thoughts and advice please - bit of a moral dilemma here. (and of course may be a complete waste of time even discussing this if the rise doesn't happen but I'd like to be prepared).
Ta v much and happy sunday to you all. Fraggle x
Hi Fraggle!!
Glad to hear that your DMP is going so well and that your DFD is so close! I think you and I started at the same time, but I have a LONG time to go!!! I had a very unexpedted pregnancy shortly into my DMP which kind of knocked things on the head and increased my DFD quite considerably - anyway, I am digressing!!
I have (as you will gather from my changing circumstances) had quite a few changes within both my income and expenditure in my DMP. I have to say I have found a lot of the time, creditors seem to get quite rumbled when you change your payment (either up the way or down the way). What I decided was that if I had a major change, I would try and capitalise on it for a little while and save some money from it, as I did not want to constantly be approaching CCCS asking for a reduction in my payment everytime I had a large bill or whatever. If it was a minor change (say £ 30/40 per month), I would hold on to the info until a review. This applied both ways (i.e. recently my car insurance went up by £ 14 per month as I changed my car, and my mortgage went up by £ 7 per month (!!!!!!???) and I didn;t report this either to get my DMP payment reduced. I feel with the constant change in costs of living, if every change of circumstances was reported, we would never hardly pay the same each month and the DMP companies would drown in the sea of ever changing circumstances!!!
That is just my take on things, but I could be wrong.
Take care,

Hi everyone!
My self-managed DMP is off to a good start. Several Creditors have accepted offers and agreed to freeze interest. But what do I do about those who refuse to freeze interest and charges? I have sent them several letters but still a few refuse and are still charging me extortionate amounts each month!! Do I complain to the FOS or the FSA?? and is there a template letter for this?
Thanks0 -
And I saved a very special goodbye until last.
To Ian - you've been with me all along, from shaky start to finish. You're always here to help myself and others. Through all the serious stuff there has been fun as well, and I so will miss having a pot shot at you now and again!
I know you have plans and hopes of your own - may they come true very soon.
So I hope your lady will forgive me, but I send you a very, big :kisses3:
Thanks for the good times
'Twitty'
P.S. And if that errant Tooth Fairy flutters by, please give her my best and tell her 'I'm outta here' now
Aww I'll miss you! I've always tried to keep positive, and have never taken life too seriously. Maybe I've been lucky with what life has thrown at me.
Hope all goes well with you, and keep in touch!
To everyone else, although this is a forum for advice, and it's also a place to get away from 'real life', and a place to relax, have a laugh, as a speakeasy. Use it for what you want!DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Hi,
Some advice needed please....I sent all my letters and token payments off to creditors last week. Capital One have replied saying my signature does not match or is missing and to re-send the letter with the correct signature before they can proceed with my request
Do I need to do this?
Also my DMP was set up with a start date of 1st December payments of £229, I only got my payslip today and I am being paid £142.00 less this month as I had a couple of days off ill, will I be able to start next month and just send token payments again for December? I can't believe I have hit a hurdle before I have started, I feel sick with worry
I am on strike 2mrw so my pay will also be less next month will CCCS take this into account?0 -
As far as I am aware you'll have to notify the CCCS re strike and less pay and ask they're advice, I'm sure there'll be lots of other people in the same boat as yourself, I for one am striking today0
