Hello. I have just set up a DMP with CCCS. They called today to say that all letters were being sent to my creditors today. I am worried about which creditors will not accept and reading on here it seems lots of them do not accept. All of this debt is mine not my fiance's and we share a mortgage together so my concern is that they will take legal preceedings and this will affect the mortgage. I am paying £547 a month and hope to up that in a few months when I get my pay rise to £650 and then again this time next year by another £100. I know this is quite early to worry but I am petrified that if this affects our mortgage my fiance is going to say enough is enough and leave me.
My main concern is payday loans. I have 4 outstanding with Wonga, Lending Stream, Quick Quid and Payday UK. Has anyone had dealings with these companies through a DMP? Do they accept it or not? Also, I have debt with Shop Direct Group through several of their catalougues (Littlewoods, ISME, Very and k and Co) has anyone delt with them through a DMP? And Next Directory?

I know this message is just a ramble of words but I stressing out big time right now. Any advice would be welcomed. :)

    Thanks Sam xxx

I have a DMP where DH does not and now have a charge registered against my share of the property. Chances are if you have a large debt outstanding with the same place as your joint mortgage these are the most likely (as happened to me) to look for this sort of option. If you get ANY court paperwork check back here before you do anything else. You may well avoid what happened to me.

Provided you continue to pay the mortgage without fail this should not become an issue.

Only one of my creditors kept charging interest but after many letters requesting they stop they sold it on to another company & all interest was removed & back dated apart from the charges added when they sold the loan.

    Hi samlovescomps

Try not to worry too much - cross the bridge when you come to it.

I don't know about the mortgage or payday loans stuff but all our creditors have accepted our DMP, some more quickly than others, but they all accepted.

Lots of great advice and support here, so welcome.

Can I ask what is DH? xxx
  • Thanks to all who have replied and to everybody who writes on here. I felt so alone before I read this forum. My fiance knows about my DMP and keeps reassuring me that he is ok with it I just have moments when I think he will just up and leave. I will just have to wait and see what happens. :) I will keep popping back with questions I am sure so thanks in advance to those who will support me and hopefully I can support others at some point. xxxx

  • Well they say every cloud, etc, and we were so pleased today to hear that our lovely lady relative who passed away last month has very kindly left us a small share of her estate. It will probably be under £5000 so I was thinking it might be a good idea to finally get Sainsburys Visa off my back for good. They are still the ones putting 'reduced' interest on my account, two years in. Payplan reckon the amount should be £2900 ish, but in real terms it's £3500 because of all the interest.
Can I ask how I go about this? Do I call, write and offer, perhaps 90% (PP told me at the start that c/c companies rarely accept less than that). I would be very grateful for any advice, thanks,

DMP is now activated and our first payment of £636.00 comes out on the 1st September , so far Lloyds TSB have sent us letters to say thanks for the token payment and letting them know where in financial difficulty , NRAM has sent us letters to say before they consider a lower payment we need to give them more information about our current income and outgoings and have charged us 3 x £10 because our direct debit has failed 3 times , Do I contact NRAM and give them my DMP reference number or do I just contact DMP to let them know about the letters NRAM have sent us.

Yes, I probably would contact NRAM because if they are in the process of receiving financial statements from DMP people (you didn't say who) they may well be able to give you a 28 or 30 day 'freeze' to save any more charges. It wouldn't do any harm to let the DMP company know as well, because as we all know here, the preditors are very good at denying that they ever received anything!
Let us know how you get on,

    Hi TF
Try this for excellent info and a template letter http://www.bdl.org.uk/images/24_full_and_final_settlement_offers.pdf
I personally would write, send recorded, keep copies etc.etc (you know the routine by now ;))
I was asking about another matter a short while ago on the 'orange side' (unenforcibility site) and we got on to the subject of F + F's.
90% sounds WAY too high. Would go in about 25% if you feel brave enough.
Search the PayPlan site for advice, maybe phone them? Would certainly not show such a strong hand to your creditor in the first instance,
You've paid your dues and more over the years, so be strong and be prepared to barter.
I might also be in a position to ofer F + F's shortly due to a legacy.
But it feels like blood money - every day I miss my Mum, and hate the thought her frugal ways might ease my money situation.
I know you will keep in touch and let us know how it goes for you.

  • Hello

I have been reading about people sending gesture payments to creditors. I remember seeing something about this is CCCS pack but did not do it as I literally have £10 until payday in a week and a half. (Not including food, cupboards are full)

Will it be ok to send token gesture payments next week? I have an early birthday cheque for £50 so could use that once I put it in bank. I have already sent the letters (last friday) saying what my situation is but would it still be ok to do this now? Also, how should I do it? Online or by cheque or postal order.

Any advice would be welcomed. :)

    Thanksxxxx
