I read a few bad reviews on thereviewcentre.co.uk saying that people still had trouble from creditors afterwards and things like that. Of course I am still going to go ahead with the DMP as PP were great but it was just a bit disheartening. As it was today when I called one creditor just to confirm balances to give to PP and they were really rude when I even mentioned the word Payplan. (Mind you, if you google Mackenzie Hall they have even worse reviews!)

    Fingers crossed eh?

I had a good chuckle reading the reviews on there. :)

I think they are just reviews, good and bad. The people who find it runs smoothly prob won't bother commenting...

All I will say is that I have had numerous case officers, and one cause for complaint in 30 months. Apart from that I can't fault them. But then again I use them to distribute my payments, and the initial negotiation at the start (they may do more behind the scenes that I'm not aware of).

Not sure I expect them to do much else. Most of the letters I receive from creditors and DCAs I respond to myself. Maybe due to the above!

    Hi everyone

cutting back the only thing I have not cut is my throat. I have stopped using the car essential journeys only. Renegotiated the phone packages shopping at Aldi and other stores to maximise bargains.

    Monthly increase

    Gas/Electric Bill increased
    Petrol Increased
    Car Insurance Increased
    Parking Charges Increased
    Food Bill Increased
    Clothing for Children increased

    No pay increase
    Increase in Pension Fees
Increase in NI Contributions on horizon

Everything is going up and my morale is going down and whilst talking to CCCS is the only option they will suggest reducing the monthly payment which will inevitably cause my creditor to re instate interest.

Is it worth continuing being on a DMP? Its not easy especially when times are hard and you have 2 children. I am desperate for a solution.

    Mikon

Can I ask when your current dfd is? As I say can't be any harm is querying, or at least an update to see what they suggest. I'm sure people are gonna be in the same boat, and though the creditors will moan, they should at least understand.

What's the alternative to the DMP? Bancruptcy? IVA?

Keep in there Mikon, we're all here for ya. I'm just not very good at showing it. Sorry. :(

My DFD is 2020, however a large proportion of my mortgage is paid off next year so that date was going to be reduced to approx 2016.

Mikon, just wanted to say keep in there, speak to the CCCS, I'm sure that since you'll be freeing up cash in the long term then they'll be happy to help...

    Hi everyone,

Haven't been on in a while, unfortunately life took over!

My gorgeous 2 year old dog died unexpectedly, just found him dead one morning :( I was (and still am) absolutely gutted. I've had flu for 2 weeks and its now spread through the house!

Still I am now back in the land of the living!

Mikon - I know exactly how you are feeling, both myself and DH work in local government so everything is being cut but the cost of living still carries on rising. Every week my DH comes home with more news of pay cuts, overtime cuts, enforced 12 days unpaid leave a year!
    Its just one long nightmare.

We did receive our 1st CCCS statement yesterday though and although the amount was horrible to see in black and white, at least it had gone down a fraction!

Hope everyone else is doing okay and looking forward to the weekend!

    Hi.

Nationwide agreed to our DMP on 10th March, but today I received default notice saying I had three weeks but to pay full amount or I will be defaulted..

I assume DMP agreement still stands and this is just a bog standard default notice that they send out.

Oh dear, won't be able to get any credit for 6 years now...what a shame. :j

I don't have to reply to default or anything, do I?

    Hi Jules,

We've had a couple of defaults since we started and we've just carried on paying our agreed amount. You need to let your DMP provider know if it gets passed to a debt collector.

I'm quite enjoying not living off credit aren't you? Wish I'd realised that years ago and then I wouldn't be in this mess!!!

Oh well, you live and learn!

Exactly what I was coming on here to say!

I have been so impressed with CCCS, posted my agreement on Weds, they have it and contacted me today to tell me that the proposals have gone out. Lovely and helpful on the phone and don't make me feel like an horrendously bad person!

I have not used a credit card for 3 weeks today and I feel so much in control. All our money is nearly in one bank account and I can account for every penny.

I am not looking forward to potential phone calls or letters but I feel armed with useful information if I have to take anyone on. I also checked with Santander today and they only have my mobile number on the account and not my work number. CCCS suggested I keep my mobile on the records in case they do need to speak to me. I have also taken our home number off my Husband's MBNA account - although he is continuing his payments as normal I assume they may try and get a number through that account.

Three weeks today since the phonecall from my Husband who had discovered everything and my life really has turned around.

I'm here for the long haul!

    Hey Guys,
WOW thank crunchie its friday !! Been a looong week!!
Well after my disappointment with Santander yesterday, I have come home to a couple of really amazing letters, both from Halifax.. first one is saying they will accept £1 a month and stop all charges for 6 months and then review, if in 6 months we are still struggleing they will pass us onto the recover team to set up a long term payment plan with no interest :T really chuffed.... i have offered they £30 a month, so will just continue to pay that :T
then the next letter is about there morgage cap, which we shouldnt have had, so as a goodwill gesture they have paid £1335 of our morgage account:T yay...things are looking up :T

Hope you all are having a good day ;)
