Looking for a bit of advise/reassurance, I've been on my DMP for 6 months and most things have been going along fairly well but with the odd little hiccup.

But today I've had a big kick in the teeth, Santander who we banked with and have an O/D with have send a letter giving us 14 days to pay off the O/D :( So far Santender have been OK with the payments we have been making and we thought everything was OK.

We have spoke to CCCS and they have said to ignore the letter and just carry on. Although I trust CCCS; as they have been really good in the 6 months, I just feel a bit nervous ignoring the letter.

Has anyone else have anything ilke this?

Well to seems as Santander don't know what they are doing.

I've have two more letters from them over the last two days, the first to tell me that they are sending out a letter to tell me that they are defaulting on the O/D (this is the letter I received first and started me panicking:() the second letter should of arrived first.

A third letter arrived today to tell me that what I am paying isn't enough but to continue paying anyway.

I'm pretty confused by it but I think the general idea is to just file the letters away and carrying on.

That's what I'm doing - after sending copies off all of them to PayPlan.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • Well I have just photocopied and printed out all my statements and payslips etc and they are sat in the envelope with my signed CCCS forms waiting to be sent on Monday. Its really happening - I'm doing this

I am relieved but also worried regarding the amount of hassle I'm going to get from creditors - but I'm sure I'll cope. (with a glass of wine or two) Its so strange sitting here making sure my horrible debts are all included and correct - its quite shameful tbh :o

I hope everyone is have a nice weekend free from harassment - even if the weather is pants (gales and rain here).

    Hello folks

I had been feeling quite positive but I'm now beginning to feel a bit scared again and worried that I haven't heard from anybody else.

My first DMP payment has gone out fine, so everybody will have received something.

I'm also a bit worried because one of my creditors is talking about 'attachment of earning' orders. Can just about deal with it all but not the shame of my work knowing - only people who know just how pathetically bad my finances are are myself and you lovely people, I just can't tell anyone else.

    Hello to you!
You've done well so far. Your creditors will have received your 1st payment, you're now 'on the road to recovery' so let them niggle away happily, without you worrying about them. :D
You are right - these are lovely people. I remember saying aeons ago to my son that 'virtual friends' don't count in the real world. But they do.
Always an ear on here to listen or a shoulder to sob on (virtually that is!)

You got it! Keep on paying regardless.
Large organisations of many departments (like the Government? :)) have no idea what someone in the next office is doing.
Letters will cross in the post, threats will be made. 'Mights and maybes' will shower you like confetti.
Make sure you keep up all essential payments (mortgage, utility bills etc) and continue your regular DMP payment.
It may take a few months, but the dust will settle.

No shame needed. You have had the courage to face up to your problems and take control. :A You will cope with creditors. They will never act to a standard pattern, so difficult to advise. Just take a deep breath, and deal with what needs to be dealt with !
As regular readers will know, we are very fond of vino. (Saturday nights after payday on here - now that is shameful:rotfl:)
The wind has removed my fence to another garden far, far away, the car is going for MOT next week, and I need £200 of dental work doing. :(
Does any one have the phone number of this Roman Abramovich bloke? I think I would like a transfer to a better life (£50 million quid and I'm all yours chuck :))

Happy Weekend to everybody from me too.
