Feel slightly better today as my husband had a reasonably nice letter from Halifax yesterday in reponse to our letter and token payment. They said they were sorry to hear of our money troubles (!!) and that they appreciate that we let them know and that we are seeking professional help. They will still continue to add interest and charges (gee thanks!) until they hear from CCCS.
At least it looks like they will be open to accepting our offer? Also spoke to Littlewoods on the phone and they have frozen interest and charges for 28 days to give the CCCS a chance to contact them. I'm sure they won't all be that good though! I've got a horrible feeling about LloydsTSB even though we have both been with them over 25 years! Loyalty counts for nothings does it?
How do I get a DMPmember number?
Halifax CC have frozen all charges after CCCS advised them of my plan...so it should also come to you...0 -

well it seems barclaycard are incapable of putting notes on their system. Answered another call from them today and gave them the same details - asked to make sure they put that on the system and stop the endless automated calls I've been getting. Fingers crossed0

hey guys, hope everyones ok? quick question...I have had letters from 3 of my creditors accepting the offer of reduced payments, however the 3rd creditor, which was my bank, have also said they plan to amalgamate my balances (o/d and loan i assume)and that they will send me a Consumer Credit Act Agreement form that i have to sign and return within 7 days or the agreement will be invalid and they'll take further action.
Is this letter safe to sign or am i going to be tricked into signing for something dodgy/ they can then use my signature for etc?!

Hi everyone,
I've just started a DMP, with first payment going to my creditors on 25th. So far I've had a weird letter from one creditor saying they can't action my request until I sign the bottom of the letter. There is no reference to what I wrote about (that I would be starting a DMP with CCCS) and so I'm not going to sign as I understand it could be a dodgy way of getting my signature. (I didn't get sign my template letters are reading excellent advice to others on the forum not to.) A second creditor (MBNA) has refused the payment offer. But I understand that CCCS will send the payment anyway.
It all feels a bit surreal at the moment, but I feel better than I have in a long time because I'm doing something positive about my debts.0 -
I had a bit of a shocker when I logged onto Payplan's online system. It said my DFD is July 2027:eek: I was told by Payplan that it would last 9 years if interest stopped or a year longer if not.
I'm paying £100.89 a month to cover £19800 debt. My car finance of £174 is being kept separate as HP. The plan is for me to finish paying that in 55 months and then add that to the payments to creditors. I'm hoping the 2027 figure is computer generated and only taking into account the £100.89 payment. I'm going to keep doing overtime with a view to making F & F when I can, ideally to tie in with the car loan ending.
I don't want this round my neck any longer than 5 years.Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0 -
Well according to your payment and debt, your dfd is correct. That can change though as you say so don't worry too much.

Hello folks
Hope everyone's ok today, thought I'd just give a little update and see what people's thoughts are.
Of my 16 creditors four have come on board with my CCCs DMP, two have been passed to debt collection companies, with the usual legal action threats etc, and one creditor keeps telling me that if I don't speak to them 'unfortunately they'll have no option but to phone me at work'.
I'm sending a letter out to everyone asking them to contact me in writing (thanks Mikon), and have contacted the the two debt collection companies by email, I am I'm afraid pathetically scared of speaking to anyone on the phone after a couple of bad experiences.
I had been feeling quite positive but I'm now beginning to feel a bit scared again and worried that I haven't heard from anybody else.
My first DMP payment has gone out fine, so everybody will have received something.
I'm also a bit worried because one of my creditors is talking about 'attachment of earning' orders. Can just about deal with it all but not the shame of my work knowing - only people who know just how pathetically bad my finances are are myself and you lovely people, I just can't tell anyone else.Pay off as much as you can in 2011 challenge - £359/£10,000

Hi there B17c,
From all the excellent things I've read on this forum, I have learned that we shouldn't actually sign letters etc, just type, so that the creditors don't have our signatures. I had an odd letter from MINT asking me to sign the bottom of theirs but I have just ignored it because I know that the CCCS have written to all my creditors with a payment offer. My suggestion would be not to sign.0 -
I think you can make a digital signature from an application on the consumer action group forum but you need a scanner to upload your sig. It then creates a special sig with a background that can not be replicated.Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0
