Yes it was a default notice. I have to say, all our other creditors have been fab. Evil Egg were a nightmare to start with and we got the same we will take you to court letter, but we just carried on. Scalifax are a pain, in the sense that, we are really fed up with the 3 month informal arrangement stuff and the "we havent received your letters" crap.
But your reply has spurred me on!! and I will keep fighing OH's corner as i have stated he suffers with alot of health probs etc.
I will keep you updated of course, and thanks again ever so much for your prompt reply
Hi
Your situation seems to be the norm with Halifax I'm afraid. Don't quote me with this, but if your OH is ill and Halifax are still threatening him and therefore making his condition worse, then I'm sure you can use this to your advantage.
If you continue to get nowhere with them, then try sending them an official complaint, and if at all possible ask your Husbands GP to type a letter for you, stating that the constant harrasment etc is making his condition worse. I'm sure that The FOS would look favourbly on you with the back up of your GP
I think that The OFT Guidlines to Debt Collection have probably been broken here to, have a read through them though to clarify.DMP mutual support thread member:3270 -

Morning all
Ellie how did you get on with the interview?
Helen i hope you are finding the paperwork not too tiresome.
DMB I think it's just to be in the club, but like wearing a wristband!
I haven't had any responsive form the Hellifax. I read somewhere that they have to send you a statement legally every so often. Does anyone know. Mikon will probably have the info to hand, where is he?! Any help gratefully received.

Morning HH,
Interview went well thanks, just waiting to hear now. I've also had a couple of agencies ring me so I'm still optimistic at the moment:)

Just like to say thanks to everyone, this is my first post, having read all your posts for the past 3 months and learnt what to expect as the process moves on.
Entered into DMP in June with Payplan owing over 100k with fifteen creditors. Received hundreds of phonecalls and many nasty letters. However today received the fourteenth acceptance only RBS to go!
Not receiving any more nasty calls, and only nice letters with statements showing no interest and reduced debt.
Dont think I'd have been able to do it without seeing all the posts giving the pitfalls and benefits along the road, so a big thankyou to everybody, and all of you thinking about a DMP, I can honestly say its changed my life so much for the better, no worries or sleepless nights, just sensible budgetting!0 -
Hello pretty new here and on the point of a DMP after recommended by CCCS.
Have a question about some of our debts with Halifax.
We have a credit card, 2 overdrafts and a mortgage with them. The DMP will cover the overdrafts and credit card but we will still pay our mortgage to them as usual, I hope! Is there anything they can do about our mortgage, will they let us pay it out of a newly opened bank account as the money going into the current one will be under the DMP with CCCS. Just wondering how it will work and can they do anything nasty regarding our mortgage?
Many thanks!0 -

That is so good to hear, we are about to go down the DMP route, on the brink so to speak and it helps so much to read of positive experiences and people enjoying less stress!:)0 -
We don't. But I've carried on what was started with this thread.
Maybe people like to have a number so they feel they belong?
'I am not a number'(quote from TV series the Prisoner, lately remade into film)
I always think it's quite interesting to see peeps signatures and sort of guess how far down the DMP yellow brick road they are, compared to yourself.
And because I have a very sad mind and sheltered upbringing (:D) I do wonder sometimes what is happening to all those who have joined this thread.
Lots of posting when the DMP kicks off, then occasional updates. Some are experts and share their wisdom, some just like to reassure.
But it's a great place to be. Thanks for your hard work as list administrator Ian.
