Housing benefit again!

Just a quick question, I have recently taken a part time job(better than signing on i thought!) So i thought i would be able to claim some sort of housing benefit now, When i was signing on i was told i wasn't eligible to claim! But i have been told today that im not eligible for any help and it looks like im going to be evicted from this house soon.
I earn around £110 a week and my partner(7 months pregnant) gets no income Ex-student! My rent is £60 a week without council tax, water, electric, food and travel costs! I cant see why we aren't eligible for any help. Has anyone got any advice for me?

Submit a claim for HB? We have since March but every time we try we're told that we're not eligible for any help! I'm hoping that someone with a great knowledge of the HB payment system can advise me on my next step.0 -
Sorry, you said you were told you weren't eligable when you signed on. I assumed this was at the JCP. How would the JC know about HB? Have you applied for HB? Have you asked them WHY you weren't eligable?
People here will TRY and help, but you have to meet us half way.0 -
She has deferred her place for a year, It has been done officially and all paperwork received from the uni. She is currently looking for work but i really doubt it she will get anything being 7 months pregnant.
Has your GF received student funding for the whole of this academic year?0 -

We applied for HB as soon as i became unemployed. We weren't eligible as she was as student. But now as she has left uni for a year and me working such low hours(I am looking for more work too) i just assumed that we would be eligible but apparently not according to the advisor in the council.
I realise this is a terrible thing to say, But would i get HB now if i lost my job? Seeing an neither one of us would be working.0 -

She has yes, but i all went to our previous landlord due to rent arrears and various other bills.0 -
That will be why you arent entitled as thats meant to be used to live on for the year. So it will take you over the amount a couple needs to live on per week with your wages and the funding.0

When i was unemployed I was thinking about gettting part time work, just to get off jsa. I found out you cant claim anything if you work 16 hours or over a week. I am so glad I decided not to go for part time as life would be a mess. I stuck it out on JSA and when i was offered a job full time i grabbed it with both hands.0
