oh bless you Ann. It sounds really difficult my horrid neighbours were like that. I think someone should start a Neighbourhood Watch and instill some civic pide into them!!!

I remember my very first house, elsewhere, I would get in and by the time I closed the door the next door neighbour would be knocking to come in for a chat, but I made that mistake and it was then a daily thing.......it then went on to a few times a day.........then.......the rest of her family would follow her in.........

I liked that house, but glad to have moved from there, my life was never my own.

Di and Ann can you think of a place we could have a reunion that is Northern? I am happy to do anywhere as long as i can get there by train. I wouldnt mind staying in a hotel even.

My neighbours are v kind and nice and not at all intrusive. I feel v lucky.

Ann living in Oxford is definitely worth waiting for and certainly worth fighting for too. Just imagine you can read anything, visit the museums, do a night class, go for walks, sightsee, meet wonderful people. Once Niddy has sorted the rotters out you will feel much better and able to cope. Do you have many friends close by so you dont get intimidated by rotten neighbours?

Well for others to say the same as well, it must be right!

That will be lovely for you.
Have they access to the internet?:j

Yes, they have a high speed wireless connection.

I was staying there 3 weeks ago while they had a short break and took my laptop with me. It worked a treat and allowed me to keep up with everyone on the thread while I was there!

My son is a programmer and works as a Systems Architect - don't know what it means, though!

It would be nice to arrange a mutual meet up, but I am hopeless on knowing where is where, as you will now know I failed my Geog with a BIG D:eek:.
It would be nice though to meet wouldn't it?:j

Trouble is, nobody else ever says anything!

Have a picture I took off the front garden - would post it on here so that everyone could see what I mean, but can't work out how to do it!

I have been the last few days looking into these buy and rent back schemes, but am not interested in doing this now, I don't feel I could trust them, so unless its government run that should be okay I think.
Like through your local housing dept etc.

I did see your posts about that on the other thread, Di.

And guessed from that that it was a "no go".

Wonder if any Housing Association would be interested in that sort of scheme?

Can't you just cut and paste it in? That's all i know.

3 dogs kindly explained how i could cross out Cameroon from the sweepstake but it is too complicated for me.

NB if anyone fancies cutting and pasting it and crossing out my team that will be much appreciated as i am rather dense in that area.

Where I live now is very nice with only 17 houses in our street, but even though the main of neighbours are lovely, the ones on the right to me are the problem, they are not so much rowdy but they just seem to know everyone's business and I think they had it in for us when we moved in when it was council (before we purchased through right to buy), the only reason why we did move from the previous house before this one because of the damp damage.
We think they were hoping that one of their children would have the house.

But for them to have expected us to move our car for someone in their family that does not even live in the street is stupid, yet they would only ask us and no-one else to move theirs, so they defo have or had it in for us.
