I am really worried. They dont mind spending cuts - they enjoy them. I always worry about vulnerable people who rely on benefits. I hope they will be protected.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

Do unemployed people really holiday in Cuba? How? The majority of them live in comparative poverty.
i lived next door to some racist old neighbours, the lady was my age - 34 then. She had 7 kids by 7 different men - most of them were criminals. They used to argue with each other and when drunk smash my fence for a laugh, steal plants from my garden. My salary then was £38,700 a year. The police used to come round arrest them and they would do it again for a laugh. One police officer said they were on more money than me even though i had 3 degrees and worked for a living. They got free legal aid when they had to defend themselves for commiting crimes I was too broke paying for my house to ever take them to court.
I think they were an extreme though. I cannot imagine there are many of them about.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Evening all, what a week the wee man is still sick his fever has been going on 4-5 days now and has been not under 102.8 all weekend!! I got a call and I am going back for a second skills test on Wed. with the college.
You know I found a lot of Ukers not seeing what was in their own backyards when it came to holidaying... The amount of Brits I would get in my B&B would tell me that Northumberland was the furthest north they ever travelled. I guess being a stranger to the UK I went EvERYWHERE when I first came here..
I think someone in Scotland is nice hehe but im biased Ann!0 -

Bring back "work houses" (watch everyone google that) :rotfl: OR make unemployed people work for the community to EARN benefits/wage etc.....
In canada if your on the Dole as you say.. y ou don't get your money unless you can do your job.. In canada they don't give a hoot if your homeless. For example if Farmer john needs 15 cherry pickers and they *govt* say you need to help out farmer john this week and you don't show up you don't get your cheque.
Its good for people like farmers, roadside maintenance etc as they get a break on paying for labour.0 -

I don't - sod em! Get a job - there are thousands out there! It boils back to my point, they get too much money off the state so why bother working? Where is the incentive?
Sorry, we'll never agree on this - I am an ex benefit basher (over on discussion time threads).... also i'm ex Jobcentre and have seen it with my own eyes too many times, it is a joke and needs to be culled sooner than later.2010 - year of the troll

There are many of both scenarios about yes. Spend a wee while reading here, you'll learn a lot

Benefit bashing thread, example: If there weren't spongers, there would be less jobs or How did people cope before tax credits?
Caution - that part of the forum is not monitored much so you may get easily offended with some topics! You'll see 50% of the threads are about benefits of some capacity!2010 - year of the troll

LOL I heart this word... I love when a UKer says It we don't use it on my side of the pond and i think it sounds cute.. I can't say it properly according to my husband with my accent lol0 -
Niddy i am going to be blind one day. Who will hire me? i am a bit scared. I work hard and i genuinely dont know what i will do when that happens. I am not married and i realistically never will, i dont trust man people, my brother and sister hate me so what happens to people like me. I am lucky i have savings but they will go soon with the cost of medical care.
PS Niddy you are fab. i am not having a go at you at all. Mine is a genuine question. This sounds like one of my economics lessons - merit goods state provision -pro or against.
i will look at the threads.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -

can i just add i do understand your point,But i do worry bout my son wife up and left him with twin boys and he cant work he needs to look after them, lives by me but i work with a day off in the wek .so unless son can get a job 1 day a week untill they are older hes is genuinly stuck. She left not "wanting to be a wife and mom anymore" sees them one night a week.So son doesnt work because he doesnt want to its because he cant at the moment. He did work fulltime untill the day she went. Its been very hard for us all but hey ho things will get better as boys get older:):):)form filler extrordinaire0
