£160 (inc taxes!) LGW-JFK

The £160 offer is only for direct flights between LGW and JFK..... part of a promotion by Delta to highlight the opening of their new route.

Domestic flights within the US are pretty cheap though so, from JFK, you should be able to get anywhere in the US for a very good rate. For example, I flew from Washington to Orlando in April, with US Airways for about £40 - and that's a just under 3 hour flight.....

Sounds great but can't seem to grab the £160 deal. My dates 16 Jan-15Mar should fit their guidelines but the best I've been able to access was £221.20 RT (£261.40 incl taxes/fees). It as their "lowest" but I could fly US Airways non-stop for £277.58 inclusive non-stop to PHL. I just moved to the U.K. and would like get back to PHL to see family as least once a year, figuring Jan-Mar in least expensive time to travel!

It's your return date that's bumping the price up.... perhaps the promo isn't running until that late?

ie I've just done a search for LGW to JFK - out on 16 Jan, returning 15 Feb, and the £160 deal is available.....

If you're flexible, then maybe you could move your dates forward a few weeks?

It should be an 0870 number (eugh!) but I use their switchboard number of 01293 562345. Then ask for the appropriate dept (ie red/silver flying club if you're a member, or reservations if not)

Thanks Weggy. I've signed up to Red flying club and I'll see if that makes a difference. I'll let you all know here if it's successful.

This is rediculous! I've spent an hour punching in dates and every time I try to find flights it says "Sorry the fare you chose just sold out"! What a load of rubbish. I'm not sure this deal is actually available. Think it's too good to be true. I challenge anyone to find a weekend ticket price of £160 coz I can't!

To get from NY to Philly, it might be worth considering getting a train. We did this from NY to Washington (which goes through Philly) and found it a bit cheaper, and far more pleasant than another flight...... Might not be any good to you, but it's just a thought.....
