Hi they would charge 49 for the box then 30 for self install or 60 for a engineer to fit it.Yes you would be able to pause and record BBC HD and itv HD as they are non sub channels.may be worth while to call and see of they can offer anything with regards to the price of the HD pack eg 6months free or something as if you take that you get the box free.

As I understand it you will have to pay for £10 a month HD pack for 12 months, after that you can cancel and just have HD FREESAT.
I have just upgraded from a standard sky box and had skyHD+ box installed last Thursday. I think the HD pack is compulsary as I couldn't find any offer without it.
I understood that you have to take the HD pack and if you wanted any extra HD pack such as movies or sport, they were extra. I believe the HD pack is for all the HD channels that will be available for free (BBC, ITV, HALLMARK, FIVE etc) if you then stop paying subscription after 12 months.
I have taken sky movies 1 pack for £8.00 on top of HD pack - didn't want to pay £16.00 for full movie pack.0 -

I couldn't take the self install option because I only had a standard box which only has 1 cable feed - you need to have a 2cable feed for the SKYHD+ box. I think sky+ boxes do have this don't they?0 -
Yeah standard Sky+ does need two feeds.0

you can have HD without £10 subs, but sky will charge you for box,if you already have sky+ i also think the self install option is not available so you need to pay for it.0 -

On sky website of offers for upgrade, there is an option to buy skyHD+ box without installation OR skyHD+ box with installation.0
